okay, 'fragile' by laufey is so jegulus coded I cannot listen to the song without thinking of them
so im gonna ramble a bit hooray

like???? this is so definitely talking about regulus' pureblooded upbringing and his reaction to being around james/sirius & co. and just him learning that the ideologies that he'd absorbed are so not true
and james just being his little james self bursting through all of regulus' barriers (lovingly of course, but still)
and the chorussss, like a ballroom scene
what i would give to read a ballroom scene between these two just filled with tension and they're so absorbed with each other that its like the entire room just melts away
like imagine theyre at hogwarts and its one of the dances and lets say they're in a set order or smthg and its james' and regulus' turn to go together (they have to bc of the set order) and its like this mix of hate and interest and heat and they're both kinda enamored and james has his hands on regulus' hips and regulus' hands are locked behind james' neck
ok ok and past that when laufey sings about after that had happened, either it can be a time skip and you learn that regulus and james broke up when james graduated and now regulus has graduated and he's ruminating on it?? or maybe he ran into james somewhere and they locked eyes and all this stuff from their past just floods into the front of his mind
OR ORRRR
regulus succumbs to the "dark side" and becomes a death eater and has sentenced himself to this life of dark and cold and truly just misses james, his spot of warmth, his sun
OOO and since in the beginning its like laufey and this person got together (MB, MB not, just my interpretation lol) after all these years and like they shouldn't have bc they cant be together... him and james have this extremely unhealthy relationship/situationship?? where they meet up from time to time but they fight and its sad and they never talk abt the war when they're together bc they're on opposite sides (kinda, I mean if we wanted it to be canon compliant then reggie would be like neutral evil butttt)
so when i say regulus is missing james maybe he's missing the way he and james used to be??
