[Week 2 Critical Thinking] Collaborative Skills
Q1. Describe your strengths and weaknesses as a collaborator. What did you do well, and what are some areas to improve? Discuss with reference to today’s activities
My strength as a collaborator is that I can contribute with giving the idea and see which idea is the most outstanding. As for my weaknesses as a collaborator, I tend to overthink about my idea and that is where I start to feel not so confident. What I did well during the activity is that I hear my group’s opinion, and I also give out ideas, from there we vote which idea to use we agree to do about the covid. Things I need to improve is the monument as I was to focus on thinking ideas where as I can help to create a nicer monument and help my groupmate to design the monument
Q2. If you had more time and an unlimited money budget, how would you design the monument differently? Include pictures of the group work, and your personal redisgn.
How I would design the monument if I had an unlimited is I will create the covid monument with every person wear a mask and show throughout the years to see the evolvement from 2020-2024. To me it shows that even though covid happen but as times goes by the doctor and nurses endured this phase and I respect that as not a lot of people can endure this situation. I remember during covid period where I was about to lose hope because back then it was very restricted. But how i overcome it is by telling myself that we can do it even if there is pandemic that is happening. Where I will put this up is at every hospital or a historical museum to show the younger generation that even if bad things, that does not mean our journey ended there. We can either give up and lose our strength or push ourselves to against all odds.

Fighting. Today’s noon class was all out. We showed up and saw an obstacle course setup with skills ladder and 5 bags pulled out. Hooyah!
We did 4 rounds of feet drills with the skills ladder then a set of different kick and punch combos on the bags, running between them. We did 2 final rounds that were the same except on the skills ladder we did pushups and a plyo-pushup hop to the next set - for every ladder rung... Hooyah!
Then we paired up and did several 1:30 rounds. Then a deadman drill of 3 rounds for 1:30 each. Pretty fun.
Then we were called into the center of the floor and drew a Kata card and did the Kata on the spot. I drew Too San and went for it. Then we did a game where we bet on each other’s ability to perform Pinan 1 in a chosen amount of time, the loser of the bet owed 30 push ups. I said 50 seconds and had Sempai attempt it. He beast-ed it out and I did the push ups...
Man what a fun class today. It had everything!
Spartan Sprint: Ft. Bragg Edition
Ran the special edition Fort Bragg Spartan Sprint Race in Fayetteville, NC. 5.5 miles of typical spartan race. Lots of obstacles and some very dry and unforgiving carolina brush trials. Not as much mud as a typical spartan but still tough. The best part was that it was near a lake so the clean off zone at the end was just a swim in the lake, heaven!
We did start out with 3 on our team and we lost a man after 20 minutes into the race after 3 9′ wall obstacles to a pulled muscle. The two of us powered on and finished strong.
Later when we were taking our winning swim at the end, we met the course designer for this one and turns out the last Super in Asheville. We spoke with him for a while about the race and all he does. Truly a great day.
Hooooooyaaaah!
