Another way to respond is support for the designers. Isn’t it amazing that they managed to make swim wear that means that the person in the photo can join in at the beach without breaking their religious rules? That’s amazing! The fact that they are now able to partake in something that previously wouldn’t be accessible to them is objectively wonderful. This is a very cool thing.
Plus it has other wonderful applications outside of religious dress. If people are uncomfortable showing as much skin as a swimsuit reveals, or have scars they don’t want to share, or skin conditions that make them unable to spend long uncovered in the sun, they can all use this to partake in the fun.
There’s no real negative to this outside of people deciding to hate it for it giving the person in the photo a way of keeping their religious dress and have fun in the water. The person in the photograph is smiling and happy, and I’m happy on their behalf.
