OCTOBER 1ST - The Tale of Robert Elm
This story is nearly an hour long and not very horrifying but my goodness something about Otis Jiry’s voice makes this so spooky and almost real like there’s an actual old man at a bar telling you his story.
I don’t remember when I first listened to this scary story I only remember liking it a lot and I hope you guys do too!
Now the Book Recommendation! Let’s start the month off with something classic but not very long (unlike my video suggestion). When October comes around I think of Edgar Allan Poe. As a lot of you may have guessed at this point I’m a pretty big Poe fan so if you prefer something more modern don’t worry I won’t only recommend from the 1800s. In Edgar Allan Poe: Complete Tales and Poems I recommend “Berenice” and “The Tell-tale Heart”

OCTOBER 14TH - Tailypo
Okay, I first heard of Tailypo when i was younger and at camp...poorly timed because jesus christ i it scared the crap out of me. it’s about a man who lives alone in the woods with his dogs. One night, when he has little to eat he sees a creature in his home and throws a knife at it, cutting off its big, meaty tail. So what does he do? He cooks and eats it...bad move dude.
SPOOPY RECOMMENDATION - The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
Who doesn’t love a story about a village with corrupted leaders surrounded by a dangerous forest filled with death and fear? The protagonist, Mary is at a complete loss when the Sisterhood and the Guardians, the leaders who protect and lead her village fail her and the fence that separates the village from the forest is breached. She has a choice too make and a truth to discover.
