Seeing Hoseok become a father is like watching him heal his own inner child again.

The weeks at the hospital were hell, post-partum kicked your ass, but you're thankful to your husband for being a respectful and encouraging partner throughout all of it. He'd hold your hand, squeeze it tight and tell you that once this week was over, the rest of your lives together would begin.

Upon seeing the little sunshine's face, he lit up unlike you had ever seen before. Your son's finger wrapped around his father's, carefully rocking him in his arms. The baby's eyes were open within hours of being born, already curious about the world. There was so much innocence in his eyes. It was almost as if it rejuvenated your husband, and inspired him to reinvent himself to provide for him.

Now you hold your child, nursing him on your chest with the pillow you had bought weeks before your due date. His hair that wisps like clouds, wrap around your careful fingers while he suckles you, breathing heavily.

Hoseok quietly opens the door to the bedroom, carrying four shopping bags of new baby equipment, looking like he just fought the baby delivery stork. "I...got carried away."

You giggle and sit up a little, pecking his lips in delight. "That's okay," you hum.

He sets the bags down on the bed and shuffles through them to find a small package of two pacifiers, one blue and one green with baby zoo animals on them. They were to replace the one that went missing a few hours ago.

He hands the package to you, smiling. "See? Little...animals. I liked it," he says.

Hoseok stands with his hands on his hips, glancing over all of the things that needed to be unpacked. "Ah, okay. Let's get started."

He selects a few items to highlight from his trip to the store: notably, some animal-print socks, some minature sunglasses, special baby lotion, and special baby powder. He made sure to pick out the extra gentle kind. Hoseok only wants the best for your baby.

Once everything has been unpacked and put away, he takes pleasure in sitting with his legs crossed, hovering over his sleeping child fondly. "So tiny..." he coos.

You nod, agreeing. At that moment, you realize you couldn't have wished for a better father to your newborn child. You can't wait for what the future holds.
