ok but like childhood friends colt and harold is the best thing ever b/c like the possibilities are endless and painful, like 

colt not being able to forget anything about harold, from his broken smile to his off-tune whistle, b/c the trauma of his death burns the observations into his memories

colt still having nightmares about his death, crying silently and soaked to the bone in gasoline, and the way he burned, like firewood. if firewood screamed

colt being extra protective of his other friends b/c he doesnt want to lose them too, even when they’re better at protecting themselves (leah)

marching band au: colt’s an arrogant crybaby trumpet and his best friend vex is a stoic-looking euphonium who’s actually a giant nerd. leah’s a clarinet on the wrestling team and bells is a clumsy color guard girl who keeps whacking this trumpet,sometimes on purpose.(wye is a drum major and done with these idiots.)they all become close after being left behind after a competition

coffee shop au (yes i am aware of the cliche shhh): bells and vex are baristas at the local college coffee shop, known or their ‘death coffee’ that will get you through finals but cost you a few years off your life. colt and leah are desperate crammers that slowly turn into regulars and fall stupidly for the staff. heart eyes and all. 

soulmate au/string of red fate au: the background is the same as a million other stories, red for romantic love, yellow for platonic, etc, etc. but in a world where love is predestined, people are more want to be rid of it. that’s why bells and vex are ‘snippers’, professionals who break strings of fate by any means neccessary. the trouble comes when their own show up. all of their tools fail and they cant find out why until they find out ‘stringers’ are on the other side, the people who put the strings around fingers in the first place. tragic ironic love? more like YES.

It is both a play on my initials (SED) and a shout-out to one of my fave characters ever: Edna Mode from The Incredibles

7) Why do you enjoy tumblr?

I enjoy being on tumblr because I get to share my interests with lots of other amazing people and make wonderful new friends. For real, through tumblr I've met someone who offered me a place to stay when I was traveling (despite never having actually seen each other's faces before then), met people with whom I semi-regularly exchange letters (because why not, getting and writing cards is super fun!), met several someones who have offered words of comfort and support and wisdom when I was feeling down or upset, met the people behind the fanfics and fanart I enjoy so much, met people from all corners of the Earth through whom I've learned about different countries and cultures... Getting tumblr is what enabled me to come back into more regular contact with my high school best friend and reforge our connection stronger than before after having sort of lost contact during college. Getting tumblr has somehow resulted in me stumbling into a group of huge nerds FROM MY OWN CITY WTF HOW CONVENIENT; people who think like me and understand me and with whom it is not weird in any way to discuss which fictional character is taking which other fictional character's dick up the ass and while there are still some kinks I need to iron out I can genuinely say they are some of the closest friends I've ever had and I have amazing fun with them <3

For me, tumblr is a place of connection; connection to my fandoms and other areas of interest to me, connection to my friends; connection to people I have never met but who share my interests and are eager to talk about them, and that is what I love about it
