DO NOT BEG MEN TO LOVE YOU
This post only has a couple of hundred notes and there are already people adding their unwanted commentary like “and women” or “don’t beg anyone to love you.” I know that social media gives us the illusion that everything needs everyone’s input, especially something as harmless as this particular sentence, but the circularity of it and the desperate need to find universality where there is none are childish and harmful. This post only says that: ‘do not beg men to love you.’ There is no paratext, it doesn’t say ‘beg women to love you’ or ‘men are the only ones that make people beg for unconditionality.’ Why contort it when it has very clearly taken the point of view of the particular? And why can’t you draw universality from the particular, instead of trying to elongate the particular into the broad.
Just two girls buried in a grave six feet apart
Oh my god they were tombmates.
so like… obviously the proper wendigo from native american lore isn’t something to mess around with, and i fully respect the culture behind it. and i don’t totally see where the cannibal who became twisted through excessive cannibalism turned into… black fluffy animals/werewolf type animals with skull faces (especially the herbivorous ones?).
my question is does anyone have a better term for the black fluffy skull creatures other than wendigo though? it leaves a bad taste in my mouth calling them wendigo, but i love them so much and want to make a few of them myself. i dont want to infringe on the proper wendigo lore though, and while wendigo is a glorious name for a creature i dont want to link them to the name even.
I gotcha, fam
Presenting one of my favorites of Irish mythology- the Puca!
“ The púca (Irish for spirit/ghost), pooka, phouka, phooka, phooca, puca or púka is primarily a creature of Celtic folklore. Considered to be bringers both of good and bad fortune, they could either help or hinder rural and marine communities. The Púca can have dark or staunch white fur or hair. “
The Puca are shapeshifters, who can appear as black dogs, horses, etc. They often show up in taverns, and drinking with a Puca promises a super fun night! They’re also tricksters of the fae world, with varied natures puca to puca, and are quite powerful.
Best of all, they’re not part of sacred culture. You can make them look damn near like whatever you want, though fluffy and black with horns and claws is their usual shtick. They even transform into humans sometimes (usually when in a tavern and needing to pass for a normal patron).
Totally non-offensive to bang to your heart’s content!
Read the notes to die instantly

It happens this year folks…
I wanna take a moment to reblog this one last time while it’s still 2019. All year, i’ve gotten over a hundred reblogs DAILY on THIS POST ONLY. Every day, my notes have been over 99+ and it still makes me laugh that this stupid post I made on a Tuesday night while watching Futurama skyrocketed so much that it showed up on tumblr trending on facebook and crossed back across my dash MULTIPLE times a week. I see people reference this post on OTHER SITES. I’ve met people on twitter and Instagram who’ve sent it to me NOT NOTICING it was me who posted it. And it cracked me up telling people “lol check the OP.” Thanks to everyone for giving me this hilarious experience! Especially @gattomeows for their hysterical addition of the actual article– i’m pretty sure that’s why it got so popular. I know it’s silly, but due to the content, it likely won’t be reblogged as often in 2020 so I wanted to thank everyone~
This is why people keep saying we should eat the rich, just in case you were wondering
this makes me physically sick
Native artwork is honestly fucking gorgeous and it infuriates me that when you think of or try to look up “Native American art”, you get fetishistic, colonizer bullshit.
I’m so fucking sick of it. We’re always defined by how other people see us.
That and native art is so underrated too. It’s hard to get attention to my artwork, it’s hard to get attention to any native artist, art competition, gallery.. anything. We all spend hours, days, even weeks honing our skills and creating art for ourselves and others. People only want the creations we slave over when it’s cheap or free. They don’t recognize each detail and it’s meaning or the intricacies we took time to sketch out or bead in or sew or anything.
I go to festivals in my area where lots of indigenous people (namely First Nations or Salish) are. A lot of their tents have the stereotypical fetishing native art incorporated into a product somehow and it makes me a little forlorn, but there isn’t much I can do but be sad. Now that’s a part of a bigger issue I can’t get into now, but you see the problem.
Art from all nations needs to be recognized.
I bought art from a creator named Harmony Hoss. She was so friendly and she sells her art at Pike’s Place in Seattle as a Tlingit woman. Tell me her formline isn’t absolutely gorgeous. But she goes so unrecognized because people are so unimpressed with her hard work.
Anyways, support native artists.
For anyone who wants to support Harmony Hoss, she has a website!
Unfortunately, it’s incredibly difficult finding real Native artists online just because of how many people blatantly lie or use misdirection to make people think that they’re Native. If anyone has recommendations for Native artists, feel free to share them!
take some time to notice your vision. see how easily you detect motion. focus on something in your peripheral (without moving your eyes to it). see how it works. look at your hands. pick something up with your fingers. appreciate how ridiculously specialized they are in fine motor skills (even if your personal motor skills are lackluster). think about how you have a body built to be an apex predator through use of tools. think about how the brain of your kind has created a digital hivemind uniting the whole world. now look back at the screen. look at the tab where you are in an argument about cartoons on tumblr. close the tab. open a new tab. google “tribute to anomalocaris”. watch the video that comes up. leave a like. subscribe even though the channel has been inactive for 8 years. you will need it in the coming times

When I worked at Amazon a microwave fell from five layers up in the racking and broke the arm of an order picker.
They were an agency temp so Amazon called the agency to let him go and have another temp sent *before* they called an ambulance, when he tried to put in sick days they turned around and told him “Sorry you’d already been let go before the accident was logged anywhere”
I will kill every ceo
I will help
Please also read this Atlantic article (in partnership with Reveal) about the complete disregard for worker safety inside Amazon warehouses
When people choose not to buy via Amazon, it’s for reasons like this
This amongst several other reasons is why I refuse to use Amazon!
Homeless people are human beings with immense value. They are members of our families, communities, neighborhoods, cities, and, for a number of people reading this, they are themselves (or have been).
The fact that homeless people do not have housing is a wrong done against them, not a sign they did something wrong. To then try and ban them from public spaces and existing in public (including doing things we all have to do, like sleep or eat), is yet another grievous wrong.
An attack on homeless people is not “protecting the community”, it is an attack on the community. Homeless people aren’t my enemy, those who would ban them from things like sleeping in public are my enemy.

This may be my favorite meme of all time
It just gets better and better as you keep scrolling.
This is killing me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you hard then you hard took me out
'He can't keep getting away with this!' meme but it's me and I'm talking about Apple
If you ever want spicy insider info on apple, I hate all their products but I work in their customer service
Go on
We have a whole bucket of issues that we acknowledge and know about but we can't acknowledge that to any customers or even offer repairs because Apple doesn't publicly admit to it.
The iPhone 7's speaker likes to go out. We can't do shit for any customer with this common and known issue.
Sometimes the iCloud just eats people's data for no reason and we have to go fuck with the account to make it come back.
If you forget your password, there's a chance that you'll have to go through account recovery even if you have the appropriate two factor verification code, because no reason. Account recovery takes anywhere from 2 days to 3 months to get you back into your account.
I've legit had to tell people that it's expected behavior for them to have no access to their account for over a month because they committed the crime of signing in on a new iPhone.
We have an internal article about devices being slowed down by updates, and the article basically tells you to shrug and say the phone's old.
To factory restore an iPhone you have to use iTunes (erase all content and settings is not the same thing), and if you use iTunes on a Mac you're basically screwed because 90% of the time you'll get an error. It legit works better with Windows but we can't say that.
WITHIN MY OWN WORKPLACE they try to make us use safari on our macs for official work websites, but they don't load. We have to use Google Chrome to get anything working.
Our internal program to facilitate screen sharing with macs and phones hasn't worked properly in over 3 months, and to this day I can only use it max a couple times a day despite being required to offer it on every call.
We currently take all calls on a proprietary program made by Apple that is a buggy mess. It constantly crashes and causes issues. Sometimes the customer data doesn't load in correctly despite the information we enter being correct.
We can't edit customer profiles so if you change your phone number, the profile when you call in will never be changed.
Our system is based on the same framework as the one Apple stores use, but we can't see anything the apple store enters.
When you call an apple store it directs you to the call center. If you need to talk to someone in the store, we put you on hold, call the public facing number that you just called, and then say "Manager" to the automated system.
It’s so lovely to see that trillion-dollar companies are just as well-run as million-dollar and billion-dollar ones.
I'm sorry I read "spicy insider info on apple" as "spicy apple cider" and I was ready to see a recipe
Brooklyn Nine-Nine s03e16
Context: they ate the candy from the gift basket, not realizing it was for the Captain from his husband and then filled it up with shit they hoped he’d like.
I love this so much
Hot take: Holt’s husband knew that Holt would not care in the slightest if he sent candy; however, Kevin chose candy specifically because he knew the squad would eat it and then frantically fill it with supplies from around the office, which he knew Holt would love even more.
He did this so that Holt, who he loves dearly, would get a basket of things he loves while also unnecessarily stressing out the squad
The one he loved would get things he loved from people that loved him on two levels. Kevin, and his team.
