Wolf - thoughtful, smartest of group, usually drives the bus, able to get most of them out of trouble
Deer - acrobat, has a prosthetic leg, rude, tells little kids different stories every time about how they lost their leg, likes to run
Rabbit - shortest of group, crazy glasses, vegematarian, very sweet, also very willing to use a gun 24/7
Bug - youngest of group, very quiet, quetrakos, can play lots of musical instruments, likes hanging oit with bird

Tucker - young teen, plays soccer, likes sci-fi, art, and bugs, very expressive, can read rollie really well, has dino necklace, doesnt get why people are scared of of Rollie, best friends with Rollie
Rollie - young teen, pitches on her baseball team, not expressive, doesnt talk much to anyone other than Tuck, wants to be a forensic scientist, knows way too much about how to kill people, wears lots of jewelery, wears a meteor necklace, best friends with Tucker

ok its been forever since I've worked on this, but I'm gonna try and pick up where I left off.
That kinda finishes off my main story idea I have so far, but there are definitely more
so first up, Hersh's story!
Hersh is a Moku, whish is basically a winged person /bird-human hybrid? idk it'll come later but just remember that he's got wings

So Hersh is the chosen one, (what for exactly? I don't know!) and he is on a mission to save the world or whatever. its been a few years since he was first chose, he's been preparing and stuff, and is getting ready to save the world or whatever! he's got a little team that's coming with him, and he is gonna do this! he's got this! he's the chosen one!
except... he's not.
When he was 10, he was at his older brother Sabo's baseball game when Sabo was chosen as the chosen one. a symbol appeared on his neck, and sabo was quickly rushed to the like. elders. who told him that yep, he was the one destined to save the world and stuff, and needed to leave immediately to go start preparing for that. Sabo would have been around 14-16 here, and going through the rebellious "whatever mom, I don't need you" phase, so when tasked with choosing his hero's team, rather than people who would have done anything to protect him, he chose his girlfriend and Hersh, on the condition that he always got their equivalent of shotgun and first pick for anything they were given that had options for the rest of their lives. Hersh, being 10 and ECSTATIC that he would get to go on a hero's quest, accepted immediately. Their parents tried to fight it a bit, saying that Hersh was too young to go at all and Sabo was too young to go without an adult, but the elders decreed that he had already chosen, and it was now set in stone. Their parents were in fact obligated to respect this decision, so off went Sabo, Hersh, and Unane (his girlfriend).
They go to like. prepare for Sabo to save the world or whatever, and its going about as well as two 15~ y.o.s and a 10 y.o. in a group alone could go. Sabo isnt taking the whole Chosen one super seriously, hes kinda bored, Hersh is going insane
oh yeah uh name change hersh is now Hoshe, like a hose but sh instead. Hoshe.
so Hoshe is going insane he is so excited to be here on this quest, he gets to experience all the things and learn all the cool hero things and this is just so amazing and great and its the coolest thing in existence and honestly he starts getting reckless bc hes heard of past hero stories and no one every got hurt they just learned all their cool stuff and saved the world!
and he loves it even more because he has all these special things that are pretty rare and for whatever reason people keep thinking that he's the chosen one? his brother has the marking on his neck so they clear it up pretty quickly but most people are very suprised to learn that the chosen one has wings that arent really build to fly (sabo has chicken wings) and not the kid who is the moku equivalent of an anime main character with the colorful hair or something. He has a ton of little things that are common enoigh hat people know abt them, but not super common to know more than 1 person who has it. he has extra wings, feather colorations up his arms, bird feet and tail, etc.)
i dont have the exact details of this scene figured out, but its somethng along these lines, Hoshe is running around, dancing, whatever idk. theyre walking over a ravine or sm and hoshe is still super active. he gets really close to an edge and it looks like hes going over. Sabo, being his older brother LUNGES to grab Hoshe and to stop him from falling. Hoshe, having good wings, just flaps them a few times and regains his balance. Sabo cant stop now having already gained momentum or whatever, and goes over. for whatever reason, maybe he hits sm, maybe he is wearing sm that covers his wings, idk but he cant fly up or stop himself at all.
someone flies down to get him, maybe Hoshe, maybe Unane, maybe no one! but its too late, and he dies. Unane and Hoshe are both distraught, Unane blames Hoshe, she leaves and maybe goes to join the villain to get revenge on Hoshe? idk but still they arent together.
Hoshe keeps going a bit, trying to at least find a place to stay for the night/day/whatever, and when he gets to a town, they all think hes the chosen one, like normal, and he is too tired to mention that he isnt. he eventually realizes that if he were to say that he was the chosen one, peoplw would give him things for free and he could live easier. so he... does. and he hates it. he hates so much that he has essentially taken his brothers identity immediatly after his death but its the only thing keeping him alive so he goes with it. he starts wearing a red bandana on his neck to cover up his lack of chosen-one-mark, and he starts going by Oshe, an old nickname that kinda sounds like it could be a nickname for Sabo (saboshe?) and eventually he starts to grow into it. he gets better at lying, starts acting how people want the chosen one to act. He starts acting even when hes alone, unable to drop this persona, hating himself for it. (*cue "worlds greatest actor" by milkinthemicrowaver on tiktok*) but that doesnt matter! :)
eventually he builds his own hero team, people had started asking why he didnt have one. some people start to think hes rude or sm because for whatever reason, he is only willing to recruit people that can fly extremely well, and refuses to let anyone wear anything that restrains wings. he also seems to occaisionally have a fear of heights?? i wonder where that came from...
anyways, new person joined the team, and this hero's team seems to want to visit some form of the underworld before saving the real world? the leader of this team, this 15 y.o. with tired eyes and a smile that seems fake and wobbly if you look at it for too long tries to say he just wants to make sure he can save the world first and that this is a test, but there seems to be something more. He sounds happy, assertive, confident that this is what he wants to do, and everyone else seems to agree since he is their leader, but theres almost a desperate undertone to it.
it takes a while to get there, and they get to know these people well. the team is extremely close, and all idolize Oshe a little bit. they like to discuss rumors about him, little things that theyve heard, making bets, joking around, its obvious how much love there is here. Oshe joins in on a lot of this, often showing true emotions, though whenever this seems to happen he often leaves for a bit, trying to regain composure or something. The team fight well, and does anything to protect another, Oshe especially, often putting himself in danger to make sure the others are ok. The new member is quickly accepted into the team, being treated like family almost immediatly. they learn peoples fears, likes, weird little quirks about them, and while Oshe seems a bit closed off, they chalk it up to stress from this years long adventure and just not a talkative person.
they get to the underworld-equivalent, and start searching for something. Oshe says he wants to go look for something alone. the team lets him for a second, but something behind them makes a noise or theres a big crash from where oshe is, and whatever happens they end up running to find him, and he is sobbing. he is crying and pleading and sobbing to this person, this person with Light brown feathered wings and a sad look on his face and he looks very similar to Oshe, but maybe a bit younger. Oshe is begging him to come with them, to please keep being the chosen one, that he cant do it anymore and he is sorry for pretending and sorry for killing him and sorry for everything and can he please come home and please please please just make everything ok again like he did when they were younger, when the world wasnt so scary and he didnt have these responsibilities and when he could just hug his older brother. The person hes talking to either doesnt respond or not in a way that the rest of the team can hear, but he (maybe) agrees a bit.
btw this is supposed to have like mild Orpheus and Eurydice story parts? you may notice that hoshe dresses just a bit like orpheus from hadestown. ill probably change this but yk for now. i dont want it to be too obvious but like. its there. just w these brothers that loved each other more than they could say and would have done anything for each other but when the time came neither could do it correctly.
and either Sabo comes with them but ends up fading away entirely, or has to stay there. Something happens, but Sabo cant do it again, hes dead. he has to stay like that. As much as Oshe would like he cant change this. And now he has to deal with this forgiveness that he doesnt deserve, this confirmation of his brothers love for him, the knowledge that he might not be the original chosen one, but through these years where he paraded around pretending, in a way he became the chosen one, and that reponsibility truly falls on him now.
ok aaaaa yep thats kinda what i have so far! Species sheets will come later, but thats Hoshe's story! ill probably get him to be called hersh again some how i do like that name, but whatever. I dont know a ton about his world, just that its set in a fantasy period, so no phones or tech or anything. ok now i hate this story. anyway-
The next part will be more about the world and setting and stuff, less story idea than before.
