John 3 of 3 As I entered my senior year of high school, I finally cleaned up my act and committed to a life of sobriety. However, with the CIA out of reach, I fell back to my first passion - business. Being an entrepreneur affords me the opportunity to write my own script. Part of being an entrepreneur means meeting and connecting with people; I've always enjoyed that side of business. From my past, I discovered my life's work - helping people in addiction and recovery. I'm involved with a program of recovery as an active sponsor (mentor) to those going through the program. I give of my time at local treatment centers as well. The Military High School was strict; no exceptions to the rules. During my second year of school, I was caught partying, and so I was kicked out. In that moment I felt my dream crumbling around me. My Mom was tough, but supportive. The school gave me the opportunity to clean up my act. If was able to do so, then I could re-apply. I went back to the public school and worked hard, got good grades, but the partying did not stop. I re-applied and was accepted back to the Military High School, again on full scholarship.
School was tough. Once again, I found myself in trouble, and again kicked out. This time around, I did not care. All I wanted to do was party. I lost sight of my goals and aspirations; I lost my drive and ambition. This was not the path I had started down a few years earlier.
