Kinda loved the Larys and Aegon scene.

I know Larys is trying to gain favour and power etc etc, but he was genuinely trying to comfort and help Aegon with his words and shared what he probably wished he himself had been told as a child.

As someone who has a chronic illness, when I first saw Larys in s1, I was so excited that there was disability rep. Obviously, I was a bit hesitant after the kinslaying and the creepy shit with Alicent, but to see one of the powerful players at court have an open disability was really fucking cool.

And now that Aegon is crippled for life with visible burns, I can just imagine Larys having that same feeling. He's been kind of on the fence this whole time, just going to the side he thinks he'll have the best position and power with after the war, but he doesn't give a flying fuck about divine dynasty and who has the 'right' to rule.

But here and now, he could have a king on the throne who's just like him. He saw Viserys let his injuries and sickness rule him, but with Aegon, Larys is trying to tell him that his experiences can make him strong (pun intended), they can be an advantage.

Idk I just thought it was a really important scene. Rheanyra's reign is to women as Aegon's reign is to people with chronic pain (as Aemond's regency is to the visually impaired etc etc)

TLDR; it's cool to see yourself represented in media even if they're dickheads

Alicent wistfully saying she wonders what life would be like if she had been allowed to stay in Oldtown and then that rare glimmer of happiness breaking through in her as she hears about Daeron. Daeron, who she does not know, who is stalwart and clever and kind, still kind. there he is, far away, her son. the one who got to stay behind. the one who got to go home. the one who still got to be spared.

hotd s2e6 spoilers:

okay i want to be clear im saying this as an honest to god lesbian, i... am not happy about rhaenyra and mysaria kissing. i got it spoiled before the episode and i was just dreading it every time they had a scene together and it was worse than i was expecting 😭

i, personally, don't see any lead up to it or any reason and overall i think it was just badly done and kind of forced. like why did it have to come straight after mysaria talking about being raped by her father? it felt like they needed to quickly move the conversation from their normal business to something personal then bam kiss, and all their other scenes in this episode felt like they were quickly trying to establish something between them and failing miserably.

i can appreciate being happy for the representation, which is partly why i'm so mad about this. i want to be able to enjoy seeing queer women in big roles on big shows, i dont enjoy it being shoehorned in, and for what? where are they going with this?

and in terms of representation, fire and blood is full of lesbians that the show is already actively writing out so i guess i can't help but feel bitter that they're erasing queer women to replace them with a previously straight woman that fans hc as queer.

this is all just my personal opinion and i'm happy for anyone who's happy about this and even more happy about all the homophobes it's probably pissed off but i just had to get this off my chest.
