Being reminded of my deep hatred for toji rn fuck that guy maki stomps on men who kill little girls.

Genuinely though, I loved this episode and what it meant for maki's character and I'm so pissed off to just be hearing toji toji toji to the point where now IM doing the same so I'm just gonna get it all out then go edit maki and mai who actually deserve my attention ☹️

I cannot properly express how heartbreaking it was to see a little 14 y/o girl that had been groomed into thinking she had to die, had accepted she had no future, that the only reason she was born at all was to give her life for a world she wasn't even apart of.

To watch her decide that she did want to live, that she did want everything she's been told she could never have. To watch the hopes and dreams that she'd never been allowed fill her eyes in real time. And watch her get shot in the head.

He didn't even care. There was never any remorse, no hesitation. I hate his fucking guts. I think he's a cool character and you can like him or whatever but I can't stand him. I can't talk about him with my male friends because all they see is cool strong guy 😎

Jjk was one of the first stories with mc teenagers in it that I watched after becoming an adult and every year I get older I realise how young they all are and my heart breaks a bit more.

nothing to do with my normal content but im reading the ledgendborn series (GREAT books) and ive just started the second book.

for context i am scottish. i have lived in scotland my entire life. and i love these books and the characters!!

but when lark opened his FUCKING MOUTH and that god awful written interpretation of a scottish accent came out a part of me died 😭 seems like a nice guy too (no spoilers please) and yet every time he says "ye" for you i have to actively roll my eyes and try not to scream. his every sentence feels like torture.

this is very inconsequential and would only bother a scottish person but ms tracy deonn please 😭😭 we do not speak like that 😭😭

i think we forget just how shocking the reveal that present day getou is kenjaku was. and, by extension, just how unprecedented gojo revealing kenjaku to the audience was.

everyone who isn't in the know after the shibuya incident would always refer to kenjaku as getou and it would drive me crazy. i forget that, after jjk0 and hidden inventory, i also fully believed that was getou. hell, mahito and the curses believe he's getou.

and i've only rethought it recently because im watching jjk with a friend who knows nothing about the show or manga. after we watched hidden inventory and jjk0 i was surprised by how unaffected he was by getou's part of the story.

but he doesn't see getou the same as i do because kenjaku's reveal re contextualises getou's whole role. to my friend, getou's the current day villain like he was in jjk0, and he's alive, with jjk being far enough removed from reality that most viewers just assume getou is alive.

but finding out about kenjaku reveals that getou isn't the antagonist of the story, he was dead before it even started. he's not the current day villain, he's a ghost haunting the narrative. and i think that makes jjk0 feel so much more final.

in hidden inventory you're not worried about gojo because you know he's alive in present day, and i think it's a similar situation with getou, the viewer thinks jjk0 is just another chapter, when really it's a failure of everything getou wanted. and ultimately, it's gojo that set the record straight on getou's story, because no one else could have.

idk how much this discourse is present on tumblr because i've not looked, but on the whole "gege saying gojo and geto are best friends means the shippers are wrong": i think, apart from the fact that shipping and canon are separate entities in the first place and none of this matters, this reaction actually says a lot about how straight men in particular view their romantic relationships.

(this can apply to not straight men but it's mainly the dudebro jjk fans i've seen pushing this and they primarily seem to be straight men that don't even know bisexuality exists)

i think often in unhealthy straight relationships (this is second hand knowledge, im a lesbian so feel free to tell me to stfu) the man often seems to view their partner as not one of their friends, but as every other role in their life. women describe feeling like their partner's girlfriend, mother, therapist and more. a lot of men would never treat their best friend the way they treat their girlfriend.

best friends can be just friends, best friends can date, best friends can be friends that secretly love each other and mortal enemies can be best friends even after one kills the other. i just think it's interesting how many people are willing to announce publicly that their best friend and partner could never mean the same thing, when as a queer person i've had a crush on most of my best friends and this conversation seems bonkers to me.

the great thing about a knight of the seven kingdoms is each short story could comfortably fit into an hour long episode, so as long as they have more than 3 episodes they cannot possibly fuck up with not having enough time (hopefully unlike something else) and if we're lucky we'll get extra dunk and egg nonsense!

(anyway i love akotsk, to anyone who hasn't read it i would recommend it more than any other asoiaf book, do yourself a favour and become obsessed before the show comes out next year 🙏🥺)

Like I'm a very anti-gojo comeback but some of the theories I've seen swirling around are so convincing. People pointed out that his ending was too happy for manga that is jjk and they are so right!

i'm more in the opposite direction where i wish he would come back but i'm very doubtful he will 😭

i'm a bit confused about what you mean by happy ending and i'm not really sure what part of megumi's growth you mean considering he's currently probably at the lowest point of his life, so i can't speak much on that sorry?

as for yuji's growth i think the flashbacks have shown that yuji's done well to learn from people other than gojo and has grown into himself even whilst gojo was around.

basically i think if he did come back, which seems unlikely after chp 261 imo, i think would be more about working through his own problems, rather than focusing on other people like he normally does.

i'd love to hear more about your thoughts tho! it's interesting how we seem to view points differently.
