Kira Amory D’Cannith, my character for an upcoming campaign set in futuristic Eberron! Really excited to play her soon!
Got an idea: Dune-inspired Ebberon campaign.
There’s a bunch of mithril and adamantine in the Mournland cause of all the dead warforged and other constructs. Cannith South is working with Breland to claim it while Cannith East is aligned with Karnath.
New Cyre would also benefit from the profits and has a strong claim as it’s on their former land.
Meanwhile the Lord of Blades sees everything in the Mournland as belonging to the warforged and is opposed to all other factions.
The party are essentially advance scouts for one of the factions and seeking to establish a foothold before the main forces of House Cannith arrive.
I made a cool thing. These are a set of House Cannith bracers for my D&D character Quin. This is the first time I've ever worked Leather before so I'm really really happy with it.
Character design work for yet ANOTHER warlock character- This one for a silly D&D game using the Eberron setting but with Superheroes. Kaine Vidor d’Cannith accidentally linked his brain up with the body of an early model warforged named AB13 who had broken down years ago. The pair worked out a deal that mechanically is a Ghost in the Machine Warlock and Kaine being able to control the broken down warforged body that AB13 themselves can’t control anymore. Together they’re the superhero Gh0st which No One Finds Funny.

Weapon Specs: The Kar Ti Hive
(compiled from readings and accounts gathered by Praivan Mariken, house Cannith)
PURPOSE:
The Hive is not, itself, a Forge that forges Warforged, but rather a Forge that forges miniature single-use Forges that, in turn, forge Warforged. #theForgeThatForgesForges
BACKGROUND:
Before Creation Forges were ordered destroyed as part of the Treaty of Thronehold, there were many in House Cannith who feared that exact outcome of the Last War. Whether from losing the War or from changing social opinion, those powerful enough to create Forges seemed aligned in their purpose to ensure the survival of the technology.
Kari d’Cannith was not publicly among their number, but it seems that he must have been (or, at some point, become) a devotee behind closed doors. Arcane dating places the creation of the Kar Ti Hive at early 995 YK, meaning that it is possible that the Mourning changed something in Kari’s mindset and led to the Hive’s speedy creation (or he had felt this way all along and carefully concealed it).
In any event, the Hive was built before the Treaty, thus preventing its creation from being an inciting international incident.
DESIGN AND DESIGNERS:
There are no relevant blueprints among Kari’s effects (any would have been destroyed at the same time as the rest in 996 YK), but one thing is clear from the magics displayed; he did not work alone on the project. The Hive exhibits a blend of arcane and druidic magics, and as Kari was a powerful and singularly focused wizard, he must have looked elsewhere for the latter knowledge. Outside of the House, certainly, as there have never been druids among the Makers of House Cannith. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to find a powerful enough druid outside the Eldeen Reaches. Common knowledge of said Eldeen Druids however, eliminates them from the realm of possibility; their focus and goals (defense against the unnatural) would stand counter to the abomination of science that the Hive and its “eggs” represent.
The only potential lead is a rubbing made using a page in one of dozens of Kari’s work journals. The previous page had been burned out, but the rubbing revealed the only word that had been written so hard into the vellum that it left an imprint in the sheet underneath. It reads simply: “Kaplan.” The word is surrounded by drawings of leaves and eyes (and eyes that are leaves), almost as if doodled idly (if not for how insistently it must have been scrawled). Cursory inquiries have netted several tradesfolx and businesses with that name in Sharn alone, but none that seem connected to druidic magics of any kind.
CONSTRUCTION/LIFE CYCLE:
The body of the Hive is very similar in shape to a typical Creation Forge: hyperboloid, smaller trumpeting at the top, like a smokestack that’s been squeezed ¾ of the way up. However, the Hive turns this shape sideways, reduces it by 70%, and adds six large metal legs with heavy footpads.
Inside, it weaves its egg-shaped mini-forges using a spiderlike loom-circle about eight feet in diameter. A large metal loop, the loom-circle is connected to dozens of hinged metal legs that act as knitting needles. The ingredients that the Hive scoops up from natural deposits, it then uses to feed the loom-circle, and an egg is created.
The Hive inserts a seed crystal of sorts, a soulsect like the more commonly known (and highly expensive) Final Messenger warforged component. This soulsect contains (or perhaps pulls out) the consciousness of the warforged it creates, storing it and returning it to the Hive upon its bearer’s death. (For what purpose? Unknown.)
The egg is then inflated containing more base materials and is let loose from the Hive. The egg itself burrows into a hole just deep enough to fill itself with the remaining needed materials, then proceeds to forge a warforged. Only two Warforged born of these miniforges have been seen, but the holes found at the two nesting sites indicate there could be hundreds of them across Khorvaire.
Once the warforged is birthed from the egg, the egg itself collapses, spent and lifeless. The Hive ostensibly then returns, pulls the loom-circle from the rest of the detritus, and inserts it into its innards, allowing it to create a new egg.
MOBILITY/ABILITIES:
Aside from the heavy metal footpads which allow the Hive to move at a speed slightly faster than the standard adventurer, the Hive also boasts a mounted lightning stone on its belly, allowing it to speed along lightning rail tracks without apparent difficulty.
Normally, this would leave this top-secret project highly visible, but it seems the creators imbued the Hive with both arcane and druidic powers that it uses to its advantage:
* Invisibility, 1x/day
* Pass Without Trace, 3x/day
* Spider Climb, 1x/day
* Shatter, 1x/day
* Thunderwave, 3x/day
* All the Hive’s and the eggs’ attacks with their legs are imbued with Booming Blade, causing those hit to get hurt if they pursue any stage of the forge’s life cycle.
Multiple pieces of the Hive appear to vibrate at a high frequency, perhaps as a method of transmitting/receiving a signal, perhaps as a defense mechanism using its supernatural energies as a way of amplifying the power of these internal tuning-forks. One such piece, when ripped out by an adventurer seeking the Hive’s destruction, made for a magic weapon in its own right:
[Sonic Kylie (requires attunement)
This magical boomerang hits harder on the way back. When you attack with it, roll to hit. If you succeed, The Sonic Kylie does 1d4 bludgeoning damage and automatically returns to your hand. However, if you miss your target, the Sonic Kylie spins off. At the start of your next turn, it returns and you may make a new attack roll with it against the same target. If the new attack roll hits, it instead does 1d4 bludgeoning damage plus 3d6 thunder damage. (effect continues if you miss again). Once the strong hit connects, you may then use your reaction to catch the boomerang. If you do not, it lands 30 feet away in a direction of DM’s choice.]

An Unsatisfying View
Something about this GIF was just killing me. No matter what I did, I couldn’t smooth out the animation. Which is weird, because the source image in House Cannith is perfectly smoothed animation. The gear on the left spins in seemingly flawless perfection. Normally this kind of thing makes for an excellent looping GIF because there is a built-in loop and all I have to do is figure out how many…
