Howards Alias were a progressive punk rock band born from the UK ska/punk boom in the early 2000's......though they were head and shoulders above any of the popular bands of that scene when it came to writing good and interesting songs that transcended the standard ska/punk style.  

Their most popular album "The Answer Is Never" is 10 years old this month (which I actually can't believe..........Anti-Manifesto put the band on in Edinburgh numerous times over the years, and it's just mental that it's been 10 years since we first booked them to play at The Mercat).

To celebrate this milestone, the band have released a live album recorded in December 2004 at the end of the massive touring schedule they completed in support of the album.

I don't think we'll ever get to see Howards Alias live again, but we can enjoy this live album and remember the good times we shared with them.

THROWBACK THURSDAY! Howards Alias live. Recorded on December 22nd 2004, this gig was a homecoming show at the end of an amazing journey since the release of their second album 'The Answer is Never' and this album has been uploaded by Matthew Reynolds today. Sonic Boom Six ad a huge amount of crossover with with Howards Alias, who took us on one of our first tours and whose 'The Answer is Never' album was a huge inspiration on our 'Ruff Guide' debut. Matt played guitar for SB6 for a short, memorable period at the end of 2009. And of course, that young cheeky chappy on the right of this photo is none other than our own Nick Horne.
