Let me explain (I'm probably wrong about this)

So Loki is a variant. He was not supposed to take the tesseract. Which means Steve and Tony did not have to go further back into the past to get the tesseract. Which means Tony would have never met Howard Stark and STEVE WOULD NEVER HAVE SEEN PEGGY. HE WOULD NOT HAVE GONE BACK TO RETURN THE TESSERACT AND WOULD NOT HAVE DECIDED TO STAY WITH PEGGY.

Which means that the whole FATWS series is a branch of the original timeline?
