Also I gotta pay down some more bills first but omg do I want to commission some artwork of Nathaniel going to Halamshiral.

I also want to at least get outfit inspirations for each companion/advisor/agent who's going to be there.

Because unlike in the game Nate is bringing everyone. Or rather, he extends the invitation to all the companions/advisors/a few agents and they all accept.

I think it makes sense that the Inquisition would have a decent entourage. And I think I'm going to continue with the idea I had with Priva - there is some sort of brooch or other way to set apart the Inquisition instead of having everyone dress the same.

Dress to impress but also what's comfortable for the person in question, somehow working in this one unifying factor (that is yet to be determined).

Masks for everyone because When In Rome.

Nathaniel is totally tempted to wear a dog mask.

Nathaniel has, at this point, recruited everyone but Dorian and Cole. And while I do want to recruit them soon because flailing and all my heart for both of them, I'm not ready to advance to that point of the plot in other ways.

I've also pretty much cleared out the Hinterlands, with the exception of the locked doors that need some sort of advanced lockpicking. Have I mentioned yet how much I hate that lockpicking was thrown in the same "bucket" as making the backpack bigger and other bonuses? And I haven't gotten to a point in the game yet where I can farm power points for influence, so right now it's just a huge irritation.

(I'm trying to figure out the soonest I can do said farming. I hope I don't have to wait until I get to Skyhold.)

I'm also wondering if there's any benefit of holding onto "valuables", or if they're really just to sell for money. I mean, if there's any benefit I didn't really notice the lack of it in my first playthrough. (This is yet another reason I want the storage chest.)

I really need to sit down and rewrite how Nathaniel and Blackwall's meeting happened.

Now I can't get the idea of Cass going to woo Viv with ideas from romance novels out of my head.

And fitting them into Inquisitor!Nathaniel 'verse, her talking about her ideas at one point to him.

CASSANDRA: I feel a little strange asking your opinion on this, but I could use some advice.

NATHANIEL: Considering the advice you're looking for, I'd say the only strange thing might be trying to get advice about how I'd woo someone like Vivienne.

CASSANDRA: And why would that be?

NATHANIEL: I love to talk with women like Vivienne at parties, and am honored to consider her a friend. But I have always tended to be attracted to women who were more comfortable in a heavy armor than a dress. In that respect, I do not believe I'd be a help.

CASSANDRA: *blushes a little* I... am aware of where you interest in women lie, Nathaniel.

*somewhere in Skyhold, Cauthrien is smirking*

NATHANIEL: Telling someone to be themself, and to let the rest fall into place, isn't very helpful. I know I've gotten angry when I asked advice from friends when seeking out others. But in the end, it's what I needed to do. Vivienne likes you for you, Cassandra. I'm sure she likes you for many of the reasons I do, because you are an incredible woman-

CASSANDRA: -I'm not-

NATHANIEL: -yes, you are. And while I may not be an expert in women like Vivienne, I know that Vivienne would not settle for anything less than the very best.

CASSANDRA: Then how do I stand a chance?

NATHANIEL: I think you might be surprised when you discover there was no contest.

It also bothers me so much that DAI is so very TEMPLARS or MAGES and really I see them fracturing into smaller groups and some (of both sides) working with the Inquisition and some not and some falling under Corypheus' control and some not.

And honestly this is how I'm going to run it in Nathaniel's AU. Most of the templars who join up with him aren't in name, probably, but I think more would have left than implied if you side with the mages.

Nathaniel obviously likes his men to have magic.

Anders likes his men to have distinct facial hair (or did, at one point lol Nate's soulpatch).

Dorian likes Grey Wardens. (Esp. if Felix becomes one too, though he liked him before then.)

It isn't the first threesome they've had together when Nathaniel kisses Dorian. Before now, they tended to focus on Anders, though the touches were not exclusive to him. But they had never kissed each other - not here, nor anywhere else.

Nathaniel's heart is in his throat when he kisses Dorian, and when he feels him respond Nathaniel knows he's falling in love. The weight of stolen glances at each other come crashing down and he struggles to breathe as they break for air.

They don't make love that night, not to each other, but there are kisses, on lips and elsewhere. Anders doesn't interrupt. If anything, he can be seen with smile that reaches his eyes.

I am here for any and all forms of Nanders esp multiship nanders.

I could see both Nathaniel and Dorian hesitating at entering to a relationship with each other.

Nathaniel is more affectionate than a lot of people would expect, and is wondering if he could maintain quality relationships with the people he's already with and take on another lover. Maybe he could, if he wasn't in the middle of saving the world. And as was the nature with both his relationships with Anders and Cauthrien, it was semi-long distance with both of them because Cauthrien was in Denerim so often or out on the field, and Anders was either in Kirkwall or on the run afterwards, and Nathaniel saw them when he could. He almost always saw them one at a time - their circumstances rarely had them in the same place at the same time.

So he keeps up a faithful missive correspondence with them both, both in cyphers.

Anders group of rebel mages ally with the Inquisition, and suddenly Anders is there regularly for the first time since they were new Wardens in Vigil's Keep. Cauthrien isn't in Skyhold proper all the time, since she's working to help settle unrest in Western Ferelden, but she's able to stop in more often than before. And with a relationship starting to form between Nathaniel and Cassandra, where Cassandra has to decide if she really wants exactly what's in the storybooks, or if she needs to revise it a little (spoiler: there are some revisions), suddenly Nathaniel has several partners in the same place.

And it's true, that they all have other partners too, some who are there and some who come and go according to missions and such, but Nathaniel wants to do right by his partners.

But there are moments in Dorian's library where he wants to reach out and touch his elbow, the way he admires his profile when he's reading in the dying light of day by the window, that he starts to wonder.

Nathaniel never went out looking for love. Love always found him when he least expected it.

So a friend of mine who's excited about Inquisitor!Nathaniel was whispering to me about the possibility of Dorian/Anders and I just.

Man why I gotta get all the obscure pairings, lol.

I wondered for a moment if they'd be in a triad with Nathaniel, and the jury's still out on that. Nathaniel is not the only person with multiple partners, and each of his partners has at least one other partner. So I'm not sure if Nathaniel (or Dorian) would sometimes join in for a threesome, but still kinda play it as friends-with-benefits sort-of thing. Like maybe they'll do stuff together when they're in a threesome but not otherwise.

They'd still be good friends, regardless.
