I've always embraced the aging process as my childhood was not an ideal one. I remember I couldn't wait to be old enough to make my own decisions in life. I've found out so much about myself in getting older. Not in the aches and pains and losses of family and friends, or white hairs and stress from life, but in the freedom I feel and the spiritual growth I could only achieve through experiences in aging. I stopped dying my hair years ago, and now only wear makeup for very special occasions and performances. I love every white hair, sun freckle, crow's feet, and wrinkle on my body. So much joy, laughter, sadness, love, loss, pain, happiness, triumph, empathy, wisdom, strength, and empowerment in all of it, I'll take the good with the bad anyday. It's what made me and continues to make me who I am.
