splinter

I had a splinter under my nail. I got it out but dang.....that hurts. I haven’t gotten a splinter/papercut in such a long time.

I haven’t harmed my fingertips in so long that the lingering and echoing pain is surprising and weird.

I feel like a creature that discovered pain for the first time (ignoring that fact I walk into door knobs all the time, stub my toe, hit my head, fall off my bed often).
