One of my top tips for feeling good about yourself would have to be wearing the right clothes! Back when I was over exercising and restricting my calories I used to be 2 sizes smaller than what I am currently. Gaining this weight was (and still is) mentally challenging. It's hard to accept ones "new" body and to feel good when you're used to looking and feeling so much different. I had to get rid of all my old clothes which was super hard. I had so many items I loved and things that were expensive but it was time to accept that these items were things I weren't to ever fit in again. Getting rid of all my clothes, meant I needed to replace them. The first few months - a year, I would buy items a that'd only just fit. Thinking that my weight gain wasn't permanent and I should be able to wear these items comfortably soon. WRONG. Never buy more things that are too small! Now, I have learnt to buy things that FIT me well. For example, you don't want to be feeling like you are busting out of high wasted shorts. You want to feel comfortable so you can learnt to feel better with yourself. I highly recommend replacing old clothes (as slowly or as quickly as your budget allows) with thrifted items because they are much cheaper (and more ethical) than full price and then you can play around with what you feel comfortable in and what you believe suits you. You will also learn sizings and what to look and feel for. You may even change your style a couple of times! I have thrifted many items and then ended up donating them back because I have been trying to work these things out for myself. I also have bought a few brand new things as a treat to my self (hello @treeoflife_loves and @hara_thelabel 🙋❤) to feel extra special and good in. When shopping, I usually choose: - Loose fitting items - Sometimes choose a size up - Dresses that are tigher around my upper torso and looser down the bottom (as displayed here), - I opt for skirts (usually) over shorts. - With jeans/shorts/yoga tights, I always opt for high waisted. - Overalls - Dresses - Baggy t's I hope this helped!
