HQ mod update 16th of nov 2025 (Basegame)

The Base game (BG) HQ replacement files have been updated for game version 1.119.109.1020 DX11.

In addition to the new textures, I attempted to fix the compression artifacts in sims skins again (forehead and chest) and while not entirely gone, they did improve compared to version 2025-07-22 (see below).

General notes:

BG_HQ file names contain the date to allow better tracking of which version you have in your game. An older version is kept on googledrive just in case. Please download the newest version, which goes by 2025-11-16.

WW-users, be aware that WW skintones are separated and are to be placed in an overrides folder. See here: LINK. Any default replacement that would clash with HQ mod is advised to be placed in an overrides folder.

Hi! This is my first mod ✨

This mod is a default replacement for Bonehilda, the character that comes with The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack.

It features a more realistic interpretation of Bonehilda while staying true to her original design and spirit.

Changes & Improvements:

Completely reworked diffuse texture, hand-painted from scratch

Added more detailed bone texture, shading, and depth

Improved clothing details, including folds and fabric definition

Adjusted body proportions for a more anatomically realistic skeleton (legs and overall structure)

I could go into every little detail, but I think it’s best experienced in-game! :D

Bonehilda has always been a special and iconic character to me throughout The Sims series, and I wanted to create a version that feels like a tribute to her legacy.

--------------------⚠️Things to keep in mind ⚠️:--------------------------

This mod is a default replacement, which means once installed, the original Bonehilda will no longer appear in your game.

During testing, I noticed that if your Sim Detail Level is set to Low, the new 3D mesh may not display correctly. → For best results, please set it to High or Very High.

This is my first mod, so if you notice any bugs or visual issues, feel free to let me know! I’d really appreciate the feedback, as I’d love to keep improving and continue creating mods in the future.

11/29/2025 update

I haven't forgotten about this!I have gotten the MVP version of the 4k upscaler working. I've learned to never move a C# project to a different location because it took me 2 hours to get set up again. Also having to remember how to code in C#.

I still need to add:

make sure LRLEs work

load from folder option

model name option

whether you resize or not

and I also want to check on the comparisons between the old version and new version. Make sure it's using GPU

Finally took the leap and switched over to the HQ mod and the difference is amazing. This is a completely unedited screen shot from CAS without gshade. It was a bit of a pain converting my CAS cc (although I was surprised quite a lot of my favorite cc creators already were HQ compatible) but definitely worth it.

question for simmers with 4070/4070 super GPUs and 2k screens

i always see people say the HQ mod is for photo taking only and not gameplay, but its actually distracting how bad some if not all the textures in the game look - everything feels a lot crunchier than it did in 1080 res - so im wondering if that advice is for people with older GPUs or everyone? should i bite the bullet and actually play the game with hq mod or does it mess things up in the game regardless of your hardware capabilities?

Hi Remussims! I was wondering if you also have problems with the HQ mod after the recent update? I've removed mods to check if the culprit was one of them but the problem stayed. Do you know if this is known among the creators?

your timing is excellent! We (@pw-creations and I) are currently converting the game files to provide a complete resource for up-to-date HQ replacements. For now, you can find the base game files and some SP/GP here, so you can get your HQ mod running again:

please keep in mind that we're not entirely done at this point. base game and the new EP are done. We will keep you updated about our progress.

We are planning to set up a HQ mod resource to combine the fragmented information that are out there at the moment and to collect everything in one place. It's in the early stage though :)

If you're a hq user already, there is no need to replace any of your old files with ours (except for the base game and the new EP), unless the old files stop working.

You guys my HQ mod broke after the latest patch and the TS4Simripper isn’t working anymore either and idk what to do 😭😭😭

I’m just gonna try to download an older patch and see if that works...
