Reminder that what was agreed on today is the exact same ceasefire proposal that Hamas agreed on in May of last year. This was possible in May and all the way back in October 2023. There is a reason it's happening now; there's a reason why Biden is talking about it as if it's his own victory.

Can we have a moment to grieve for all the lives lost. And how little of worth they were to americans who considered them less than a vote. Hamas had agreed to a deal in the very beginning of all this but biden prolonged their unnecessary suffering. Biden and Israel killed the baby who died in the cold, the child looking for food, the father who was getting flour, the men and women running outdoor kitchens for thousands, the teachers, the students who never got to graduate, the couple that never got to have their wedding, to the freedom fighters killing iof shitheads posting their atrocities and without whom the zionists would have never come to a ceasefire deal, glory to all of our martyrs. They rest on our conscience

I don't want to derail this conversation about colorism on simblr, but I also want to say that the inverse is true, as well. Not only are black women held to impossible standards, non-black people often get praise and attention for doing the bare minimum.

Nobody questions white simmers with all-white casts. If they introduce a single black character, they get kudos for diversity. Nobody says anything if the character is written in a stereotyped or outright racist way. Nobody says anything if all the black women in the story exist just to be abused and mistreated by other characters. Nobody says anything if the character abruptly disappears from the story, never to be seen again.

No joke, I've seen people who have antebellum levels of misogynoir get fawning asks for having "realistic" and "unforced" diversity in their stories.

Meanwhile, black women get shit on for failing to live up to impossible purity standards. It's absolute bullshit.
