HEY.
If you’re into DnD, or RPGs, or making your own session, I just want to remind people about The Overseer Project
or @theoverseerproject for all the uninitiated.
tl;dr: it’s the first fully-functional Homestuck RPG. sBURB for real.
I just realized that many of you do not know anything about this amazing project; which has been in development, almost as long as Homestuck Itself! I aim to fix that, today. They’re now in Version 3, which sounds like the final version that we’ve been waiting to get completed, all this time. If you ever felt a desire to play sBURB, only to RAGE AT GOD that the game only exists in a fantasy world, BOY, DO I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU!
It’s a fan-made, fan-modified, FREE text-based Homestuck RPG; still alive and kicking,, from back in the distant era before Hiveswap was even announced. It plays in your browser, and has an automated DM, with a story based on SBURB, Classpects, Roletechs, Echeladders, Consorts, Denizens, Dungeons, Quests, Grist Homogeny, and an Actual. Functional. Alchemy System; which is completely open-ended, and continually evolving, all the time!
I played a session myself, back when it was still in the Beta, almost seven years ago! It was majorly satisfying even then! I loved creating my own original moves; that played with my aspect’s strengths, and unleashing them on a cavalcade of interesting, imaginative, frightful, and fascinating original enemy designs. Coordinating raids on vast, randomly-generated dungeons with my role-playing friends in other countries was also a great way to feel close to someone who might be otherwise intangible. I also enjoyed crafting new, and ever-stranger weapons through the user-submitted alchemy portal. The feeling of excitement when you find out that a(n) unnatural/silly/overpowered weapon you designed from the ground up(think pogo-hammer made out of lightsabers!) got approved, with its own status effects, buffs, and deficiencies for anyone else to see and use, is absolutely astounding. I think every Homestuck fan should be able to feel that pride at least once.
So do yourself a favor, and check it out!
That’s all. Have Fun!
