“–oh, oops,” Aphrodite squealed as she almost spilled her drink on the person next to her. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise you were standing right there,” she turned to the person besides her and gave them an apologetic look. She wasn’t a generally very clumsy person but tonight she suddenly felt so overwhelmed.
levi settles on the step, setting down his pint glass beside him. the ballroom had gotten a little claustrophobic a while ago - the press of people and the hum of voices mingling with the music made levi want to crawl out of his skin after a few hours in amongst it. he was a people person, sure. but gigs like this got a little suffocating after a while. it didn’t help that he’d been embroiled in a handful of rather serious conversations during his time there - political talk wasn’t levi’s favourite.
he sits and sips his guinness for a moment, which he’d had refilled before he slipped out for some fresh air, looking out across the small, garden-skirted patio and to the beach and ocean beyond. it was nice to be outside for a bit, to cool down under his thick velvet and have a drink in peace.
he glances back when the door opens, blinking up a moment before he looks away, shuffling to make room for the person should they want to pass.
“Some day I’ll take a party planning 101. It’s just astonishing how some people manage to make each party look so splendid and unique. Even though the setting is the same each time.”
The change of seasons reminded everyone that life moved on, the time’s arrow neither stands still or reverses --- it merely marches forward. Life was meant to be enjoyed. It was considered a good idea to try to lift everyone’s spirits with a lavish party. Perhaps it would help to decrease the tension on the island. For one night everyone would put aside their disagreements and light the candles to celebrate autumn’s arrival. The ballroom was decorated with beautiful colours of the autumn foliage, and while the goal was to make everything look a bit rustic, it was impossible to not add sprinkles of luxury amid everything. Impossible when the guests did not know what poor quality looked like. The ballroom would be filled with beautiful gowns and dapper looking suits --- not to mention everyone’s favourite accessories: fake smiles.

“What an unpleseant surprise seeing you here,“ Cat commented when she noticed Andres. She had promised Barbie that she wouldn’t talk to him and create any drama but he was standing right there and Cat couldn’t help herself. “Are you enjoying yourself?”
Once he finally made it to the room- significantly late as it had been the first time he tried to dress Lead on her pretty dresses all on his own- he gave a quick look around to see who had made the effort to come. Many people were there, and some were even coming in as well which left him with a cleaner conscience about his tardiness. It only took him that quick look of the room for Leda to run off and he sighed for a second before quickly following after her, a few smiles at the people he passed managing to catch up to Leda, and pick her up only when he was already in front of perhaps the one person he’d prefer not to see in public. “Hello, princess,” he said trying to keep their conversation as formal as possible as to not get any suspicion. He smiled at the blonde boy next to her “y joven príncipe”
