The sixth annual HSWT brewing contest! The theme was “German beer styles”. We got 14 beers covering a wide range from pale kellerbier to dark weizenbock, even two Berliner Weisses were handed in.

One of the entries to the brewing contest. One of the best, in my opinion, that’s why I traded some of our Eichenweiße with the Sourpower.

It’s not too sour and quite sweet and yoghurt-like (because that’s where the lactic acid bacteriae came from) Perfect for summer evenings!

There is a story about a brewmaster who came to a brewery to fight against an infection. After some time he could eliminate the unwanted microbes. But what was the reaction of the customers? “There’s a new brewmaster, the beer doesn’t taste good anymore!”
