Flyer for Cambridge, MA-based punk rock clothing and fetish-wear store Hubba Hubba, circa early 90s.

A solo trip to Hubba Hubba was a bit intimidating for me as a teen. The store had cool vintage and punk rock clothing, but also an assortment of rubber masks and other fetish gear that raised more questions than could be easily answered in a pre-internet (or pre-Ghost World) era. However, I was super-proud of having found my perfect leather jacket there, at the start of my junior year of high school.

But more intriguing that the various unidentifiable devices bedecking the store’s walls was the prospect of RECORDS. I don’t recall ever buying any at Hubba Hubba, but what this flyer advertised was certainly a draw. Another second-hand clothing store in Cambridge, The Garment District, also sold records. And I found that to be a perfect combination for me: vintage vinyl and vintage dresses.
