Being a biochemist wasn’t easy, but you also felt that it was not as intense as everyone had warned going into it. Most had attempted to scare you off from such a path, something you were glad you hadn’t given into now that you had found your calling and established yourself in a career. There was someone who has never done such a thing though, your boyfriend, Hoetaek. He was more than supportive, he was awe-struck. Whenever you would discuss things he looked at you as if you had hung the stars themselves. Well, until he snapped and made out with you passionately until he got you into his bed for a long night.
Despite your love for your job, today had not been a good day. Things had not gone according to plan, and now you felt as though you were bringing work home because you couldn’t get your mind off what happened. “None of that, I need to figure this out.” You counter trying to shake him off but to no avail.

With work so busy, the two of you will often have dates at the studio so that Hoetaek can get through his work, and also spend time with you too. He’ll always order in plenty of food, from the best restaurants to treat you with, sometimes even ordering a car to pick you up so you don’t have to walk down to the studio in the cold. Although they’re not always the most conventional dates, Hoetaek will always make sure that he spoils you and makes you feel special even on the most random of dates you share.

He’d seen one of his relationships before go public only to not work out, and the last thing he wanted was to see that happen again. He always worked hard on keeping things relaxed, both for you and the fans too. He’d definitely learnt a few lessons from the last time to know what to do this time, but not dating another idol also seemed to work a lot better for him too, less pressure, and less expectation. It was still a lot for Hoetaek to worry about, but he knew that he had previous experience to learn from this time around.

There was no better plan as far as Hoetaek was concerned for you to meet his family, then to take everyone on holiday. He doesn’t like to share you, even if you do get on with the boys very well, he trusts them, but he’s wary, and there’s no way he’s going to let any of them get too close to you.

Hoetaek was the first of the two of you to say, ‘I love you,’ when the two of you went out on a date one evening. He’d gone particularly overboard, which instantly had you intrigued as to what was going on, only to have your questions answered at the end of the night, just as dessert arrived, typically romantic of him.

If he can find himself getting a bit jealous, then Hoetaek will tend to crave a little more of your attention, and make his presence known a bit more in the group. It’s not just so that you remember that he’s there, but it’s also a subtle nod to whoever is capturing your attention that he’s there, and that he’s your boyfriend too. He’ll find himself telling more jokes and trying to turn the attention of the group back onto him, with funny jokes, or at least attempts at funny jokes that will have him at the centre of everyone’s attention.

Although a family was never something that Hoetaek really thought of, overtime he began to pick up on how the lyrics often changed in his music to suit the changes that were going on in his life. Love began to crop up a lot more, and then plenty of mentions of the future, which naturally saw children appear in his lyrics too. If there’s one thing to expect with Hoetaek, then it’s always his poor attempts with dad jokes, which the other members very quickly warned you about when you first started dating. At the best of times, Hoetaek could tickle you by how funny he was, but it was the dad jokes that he always knew were your weakness, and so on those days when you’d been feeling particularly low or moody, he knew the answer to cheering you up again. They never got better, in fact they probably only got worse, but somehow you just found yourself laughing even more at them, even if it was at Hoetaek’s expense.

Breakups are hard, but they are even harder when you find out you were being cheated on. Huitaek left a lot of his stuff in your apartment only adding to your struggle with reality. Hui had been locked away in his studio for almost a week now, and nobody was even sure if he was writing music. But they did know that part of the reason was because of the breakup. He was angry with the company for making him choose between them and you, but he couldn’t really take it out on them. So he had taken it out on you, and was now taking it out on his work and bottles of alcohol.
“Dude, you really should eat something,” Jinho sighed as he entered the studio without knocking. But as soon as his eyes landed on the many empty bottles in cans, his concern grew. This was a bigger issue than he thought. “Hui, what are you doing?”
“Go away,” Hui slurred.
“Hui, I get you’re upset,” the eldest said as he just stepped further into the room and closed the door, “but you can’t drown your feelings by drinking. You loved her, you should let yourself feel sad.”
“Well now I love alcohol,” he replied simply before taking another drink. “I'm fine, okay? I don’t need _____ anyway. I’m better off without her.”
Even though Jinho felt bad for him, he was getting fed up with his attitude. He knew Hui didn’t want to lose you, but he was stupid and fought with you when he broke up with you because he was angry at the company. He basically burned the bridge he had with you, so you weren’t around at all.
“You are?” Jinho asked skeptically. “So, are you happy?”
“I... Yes,” he lied, turning to look at Jinho instead of his computer screen.
Jinho rolled his eyes, shaking his head, “Whatever, Hui. You can say you were angry at _____ all you want, but we both know you were frustrated that there wasn’t anything you could do. But that’s no excuse to have treated her the way you did. You fucked up, not just the company.”
Jinho left his leader to be drunk and grumpy alone, but as soon as the older boy was gone, Hui broke down into sobs because he knew Jinho was right. There was no way you’d ever be in his life again, and it wasn’t even the company’s fault. The only person he could blame was himself.

(Here’s my problem. I live for apocalypse aus, specifically zombie apocalypse aus even though I’m terrified if zombie apocalypses. But idk something about like everything in ruins and people trying to survive together fuckin gets me so I love this too much and will 100% get carried away (like i almost made it just a full oneshot bc i love this idea too much but unfortunately ya girl has zero time lately) so lets go !!!!!!)
At the beginning of the apocalypse, everybody would be surprised somebody like Hui even made it because he’s easily terrified, he just kinda runs away and yells and cries, so like how did he even manage to escape getting eaten? That’s when you found him, and you had been running around with your friend that had escaped with you when the apocalypse started. He’s like, crying in the corner of an abandoned grocery store because there was a zombie in the back room and he knows he’s gonna die, but you come in and smash its skull in and save his life, so you and your friend decided to adopt him into your group. And let me tell you, months of narrowly escaping death and being surrounded by the undead will start to harden you up, and Hui definitely isn’t the terrified person you’ve come to know (especially not after he had to watch your friend get eaten alive and then comfort you afterwards). So you and Hui have been partners in crime for what feels like forever, and you know each other super fucking well. Like, y’all don’t even have to call out things when you’re fighting zombies, you both just seem to know what the other is going to do and then how to help. But being stuck together and only being around each other has made you both gain some feelings. Hui isn’t the tiny scaredy-cat you used to see him as, and you aren’t the crazy, stone-cold person he used to see you as. You’ve grown a lot closer -- so close, in fact, that you and Hui often joke that you may as well be married (plus, being in a zombie apocalypse isn’t really the best time to get laid so neither of you have really had any in a long time and loneliness builds up). But neither of you ever made a move because you’re just trying to live through each day and night, so you don’t really have the time, but you also don’t really know if the other feels the same tension. It’s not until you both end up getting trapped in the basement of an abandoned house that suddenly becomes surrounded by zombies that anything changes. Hui saved you from getting shot by raiders who were hiding out in the house, and you saved him from getting killed by the zombies that said raiders attracted to the house since you pissed them off. And when the two of you get back to your little hideout, you really realized that you may not get a tomorrow. Either of you could die at any moment, so why not act on your feelings? Needless to say, you didn’t really sleep a ton that night, and watching the sunrise with your head on Hui’s bare chest and listening to his heartbeat is pretty nice.
[1:01am] As you were sitting on Hui’s lap you feel his hands grabbing your waist. He kisses your neck down to your collarbone. You throw your head back in response to the pleasure you were feeling. You froze, slowly turning your head to look in the doorway where he’d appeared.
Hui didn’t normally complain about being put on what everybody else in your squad called “babysitting duty”. It’s cooler.” “E’Dawn, ninjas are supposed to be quiet.”) Hui didn’t find that you slowed the group down in any way. Your only issue was getting too greedy and coming very close to getting caught. Like right now.
“It isn’t what it looks like!” you insisted, putting both of your hands in the air.
Hui only quirked a brow, crossing his arms over his chest.
You sighed, “Okay... Maybe it is...”
“We took out their guards, so the boss is going to be here soon,” he reminded you. “We don’t have time for this. If we don’t meet up with the others on time, all of our asses will be in trouble.”
“But think of the money, Hui!”
“_____,” his voice was stern, his eyes narrowed.
“Fine,” you groaned, getting up from your position and jogging over to Hui so the two of you could make your getaway and meet up with the rest of the group that was in the building. “By the way, I got this before you had to come and ruin my fun.”
You tossed him a large stack of bills that you’d found in the top drawer of the boss’s desk after picking the lock. Hui definitely looked impressed with you as you flashed him a smile.
He chuckled, shaking his head, “What am I gonna do with you?”
