Amazon fires
This isn’t he first time the forest has been ablaze. People have been intentionally burning it for honest to god as long as I have breathed air on this earth. As idiotic and detrimental as it is, some people will destroy the world to turn a profit.
80% of regular rainforest destruction is done to flatten land and create cattle grazing feilds and grow mono crops to feed to these “livestock” animals. This is the worst case scenario. People would rather live life sustained on blood and oil rather than make lifestyle changes. Yes, I know individual action seems futile, and the world looks like it’s going to end no matter what we do.
I refuse to believe that nothing we do matters. Every single choice we make supports or opposes these industrial practices that happen on global levels. The governments are owned by corporations, money literally makes the world go around. If enough people opened their eyes to the reality that history is happening, and currently, this may be the biggest turn of events in the history of the human race. Hell, the history of the planet, it’s entire well being is at stake.
As humans, intelligent beings that conquered this earth, of all the variety we have we are all the same down to our bones. The privileged among us have the most important opportunities to make our voices heard. To make choices that don’t support the destruction of he planet, the subjugation of our fellow people, of the original inhabitants of these lands, of the animals, of the nature of the world itself.
Life has value beyond measure. We take it for granted everyday. We lay to waste the things, to the people, we deem less than. To the people who can see the bigger picture, who understand that we have the ability to make humanity a helpful and kind species, please don’t be afraid. Please, we need you now more than ever to help turn the tides and save this planet, before it really is too late.
Do your research. Speak the truth. Make choices that don’t support cruelty. Don’t aim to be ‘less bad’, keep trying to be the best you can possibly achieve with what little time we have.
Please. Only individuals can make their own choices. Together we can revive what was so stupidly tossed aside. We have the power as collective individuals to speak and be heard, everything is changing. There is no way to keep on going the way we are. We must make changes. We are the future, and the future of humanity, depends on us.
