What about a modern!AU with Poe holding an annual Christmas party at his house. And since Poe is friends with Rey. Who brings Finn along with her. Who has been crushing on him majorly since the last Christmas party. Matchmakers and mistletoe make the night rather interesting?

“Finn, I swear to god if you change your clothes one more time!” Rey yells down the hallway of their shared apartment. She had been dressed for at least an hour and her best friend has officially changed his entire outfit nine times, she was starting to get impatient. It was only a Christmas party, sure it was a Christmas party at his secret (read stupidly obvious to everyone) crush’s house. She shouldn’t have told him where the party was being held until after they got there, at least then they would have been on time and she could be well on her way to stuffing her face with free food. Instead she was stomping around the small two bedroom apartment grumbling to herself.
“I don’t think I’m going to go.. You go with out me” she heard coming from her friend’s room and that was the last straw. She stormed down the hallway and pushed open his door.
“What if I was naked?!” Finn yelped.
“You know for a fact that I don’t care about your genitalia so hush. We are going to this party. I want to eat. Plus I already told him you were coming. So put on that black sweater that you like so much and get your ass out of the door and in my car.” She groused with her hands in her hip. Finn mumbled something under his breath but she ignored him and started tapping her foot impatiently. When he finally was dressed, and yes she stood there until he was done, they were finally off to the party.
When they arrived the party was already full swing and the music was softly playing from speaker while every dined on the food that she had been plotting on all day. Finn hesitated at the door way but she grabbed his hand and knocked on the door.
When the door opened it wasn’t Poe who answered but his younger sibling Brady.
“Rey! Finn! Come on in!” Brady said smiling wide. Rey bodily pushed the nervous Finn into the home.
“Hey BB, sorry we are late but SOMEONE couldn’t figure out what to wear” she said as she closed the door behind her. She turned and Finn had already disappeared into a group of people far on the other side of the room.
“Poe has been wrecking havoc on my nerves since he found out he was coming,” BB sighed in commisseration. “They should just kiss already.”
Rey stopped dead in her tracks. They should just kiss… It’s Christmas… Mistletoe! She then repeated this outloud.
“B, buddy, you are a genius. The faster we get them together the easier our lives will be. And I have an idea!” Rey whispers some plans to Brady and they share some ideas.
The moment Finn found Poe was an obvious one.
“Poe..? Poe Dameron? How’ve you been?” you could hear the smile is Finn voice from all the way from the other side of the room.
“Finn! Buddy! I wasn’t sure you’d make it this year” Rey rolled her eyes, liar. She turned back to BB.
“Time to put our plan into action” Brady said with a wink. She nodded before stuffing some appetizers in her mouth and following him. What is the worse that could happen.
Finn wasn’t sure this party was a good idea. The party last year was a lot of fun and it was great to meet his roommates school friends, honestly they were awesome; some of them too awesome. Poe Dameron was the epitome of handsome rebel and everything about him made Finn want simultaneously kiss him and cuddle him senseless. Currently all he could think about was the fact that Poe had seemingly abandoned his whole party to sit in another room and talk to him about how classes were going.
“And so then I thought that maybe I should take another English class this term because all of the poly-sci classes were full. Lo and behold the choice my advisor gave me was Persuasive Journalism with Professor Ren…” Poe was saying before being interrupted by the entrance of Brady.
“Hey bro can you check the other room for me? I’m pretty sure I lost my phone. You could even take Finn with you!” Finn couldn’t help but be slightly puzzled by the younger Dameron. But stood up anyway to accompany Poe on the search. As they walked out the door he was sure he saw Rey run around the corner but shrugged it off as he accidently bumped into the older boy.
“What’s up” Finn said puzzled by the sudden stop. Poe pointed slightly upward and Finn followed his eyes to the sprig of mistletoe over the door jam. It hadn’t been there when they came in this room because if it had he definitely would have noticed that. He looked back to Poe who was biting his lip while looking at him. Finn felt his heart beat quicken.
‘Are we really doing this right now? Are we really doing this? Oh wow I think we are going to do this. We are soooo doing this’ was all that went through his mind before Poe’s lips were on his. If he had been listening carefully he would have heard the giggle and hi-five of Rey and Brady as they looked on in triumph but honestly he was to busy thinking
