Here is you grumpy, old astro mechanic Artoo Deetoo ! He speaks in SSL (Space Sign Language) and that's probably the only reason he's allowed near the kids, because that guy swears so much, even his husban is Shook.

So yeah, he's my take on human R2D2 ! (I tried to make him sign "shit for brain" in ASL so he's probably talking about Anakin)

Concept moodboard: Human!R2D2

I got this idea in my head while rewatching Clone Wars. This random blue haired orphan kid with the nickname “R2″, that Anakin found and decided “this is my best friend from now on till forever”. Who of cause can fly like the devil and is just as careless but sharp minded as him. They’re glued to the hip from the day they met and not even the judging council can stop them. Naturally Anakin finds a way for R2 to become a plus one pilot/mechanic to the 501st.

Someone explain why I like this character concept way too much? I need this now.
