When Vox crosses the threshold of the Hotel, the main hall seems to get quieter. Sure, in the last month Vox visited this place - to make a show with Lilith for the cause of imps rights because of [DELETED] and for [DELETED] reasons. But still, the appearance one of the Vees, who attempted to destroy this hotel, makes the guests whisper and stare.

As if that wasn't enough, there is a human woman next to him.

"So I brought you someone you'd better protect," he announces loud enough for everyone to hear. "Lillian is human, and humans are annoyingly fragile, so don't fuck with her, or I will fuck all of you up."

After that charming introduction, Vox searches for Charlie.

... When Vox was sitting at the park in the afternoon, he thought long and hard. He needed time to upload backups. With this amount of lost information - several days, no less.

He could not trust his partners. They could be either behind it or next targets, and he couldn't risk either way.

He could not trust other Overlords, especially after the Incident. Half of the Pentagram city would gladly mess up his wiring, would gladly eat his heart.

Everyone in Hell had motives to want to end him, but there was one person. One.

The princess. Firm believer in second chances. Stupid child, annoying and loud, idealist, a hellish trust fund baby.

What if she hadn't forgiven him? What if she's also a foe?

No. He doesn't remember [DELETED], but he remembers that they bonded over [DELETED]. He remembers how she didn't push him away because of the report on Lilith. He remembers how she asked him to call herself Charlie. How careful she was with him, even though he fucked up so majorly that he almost wiped away half of the city that has been his loyal audience. Almost killed her and her little friend and [DELETED].

So Charlie is his only chance.

...

But Charlie is nowhere to be seen, and Vox feels tense. After all, Radio demon can be lurking somewhere around here.

"You know," he whispers to "Lillian", since they are far enough from the other guests. "I don't think she's here. Maybe she left for some, I don't know, diplomatic mission in Cannibal town. Or else. I probably should get going. You'll be fine on your own?"

Introducing Eve Bloom and Li Morningstar!

They grew up together, basically brother and sister, they went to school and college together, and Eve is so gonna kick Li's butt when he returns to see his baby girl.

Eve Bloom is a florist guru, she owns many establishments over the city. She's married to a rockstar - Adam lol not Li - and plans to run for mayor in the next run.

Li Morningstar does actually adore his wife but had to leave the city for... reasons (cough cough I ain't spoiling cough cough). He was part of a band then did the solo gig.

Fun Fact: the Male Lilith design was inspired by a fanart I saw of Rockstar Lestat ❤️
