I am as limited and prone to mistakes as any other human being, so I’m sure there have been way too many times I have misrepresented Jesus and his radical messages of justice for the oppressed – even if it means a loss of my own privilege – and love for all – even for my enemies. It’s a hard vision to live into for any of us, on whatever “point” in the political or theological spectrum we may fall.
In my best moments I am starkly aware of how little I actually know about God and how impossible it is for any of us to actually grasp who or what God is. It’s a very humbling realization and honestly kinda terrifying!…but maybe a little exciting, too. After all, it has been said that if you could explain or imagine God, it would not be God whom you’re worshipping. I do my best every day to remind myself of that and make it clear that everything I say on this blog should be understood through that lens of human limitation. Other than that, I can do nothing but depend on God’s grace and guidance; so far, They have led me towards ever vaster and world-upending visions of Their love and intent for Creation – visions that compel me to change my own ways just as often as they affirm my Goodness and belovedness.
So thank you, genuinely, for the prayers. Is there anything you would like me to pray for for you?

16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Just the one, technically. The other two (both Pokemon, Kalos OC Trainer and 324 Fakemon region) are both just ideas that have infected my brain and are rotting it from the inside.
24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?
Gonna be honest with you, I have terrible memory and if someone tells me something that is either not useful or actively detrimental my brain discards it almost immediately.
I guess the method my mom uses to write could count. She goes like "Sit down in front of a piece of paper with a pen and just write off the top of your head. No backtracking or editing, just off the top on a prompt." Which works for her, and could work for other people, but the way I write specifically, I need to conceptualize the scene in my head and act it out while I write it (also while pacing, so the 'sit down' thing doesn't work, either).
