Here they are. The two dads and the Impossible God in a more realistic fashion❤️
Blind Trust
⚠️slight mention of Verbal abuse, Wishing for non-existence/ being dead⚠️
It's a beautiful sunny day. The sky is clear, barely a cloud in view. It seems like the perfect day indeed! But something isn't quite right. There's a certain someone who wouldn't consider this day perfect at all. It seem to be a small child, maybe 9 years old, or even younger. It's unclear, but her stature shows she's awfully young. This young girl has very long black scruffy hair, pale skin almost like paper, very thin, and the most peculiar sight of all, eyes red as rubies. Some might confuse her with an albino, but she was just born that way. Most adults would consider her peculiar look to be unnerving and untrustworthy.
Why are people judging her? Why won't this child consider the day as very pleasant? This girl, which goes by the name of Raven, is a homeless child. Wearing only a dirty overall and a white shirt almost gray with dirt. Owning no pair of shoes she roams the streets of the city. Homeless children can he associated with some gangs, or even worse drug dealing, but she doesn't belong to any of those. She's just a lonely and harmless child forced to survive in the streets and suffer hunger and the elements, owning no trust towards any grown up.
Long story short, she used to have a family, but her parents decided to get rid of her like some dog at an animal shelter. She even lived in the orphanage they left her at, but for the sake of keeping this childs innocence intact, one of the nuns made her believe in lies, giving her empty hopes of being reunited with her family. One day she overhead a conversion regarding her, and was in utter disbelief for what she heard. She refused to accept that her own parents never cared for her, nor where they coming back. So that same moment, she ran away. She searched, and searched, and searched, but they where no where to be found. After that feat she regretfully accepted the harsh truth, but refused any sort of trust or help from a potential untrustworthy, mean, lying adult.
Now, she has gotten used to the life of the streets. Every day she would search for something to eat or for a new shelter to spend the night in. Walking amongst adults isn't a big deal for her, knowing they all ignore her presence. Begging for money only worked for a short time until she was ganged up by some mean teenagers. Loneliness is her friend, and that's the way it is. There are some days where Raven would wish to finally have a family again, one that would love her no matter what, but she would push the tought aside knowing she doesn't deserve any sort of affection.
After hours of walking, Raven decided to go to her favourite place of all; the Park. It's filled with grass and trees, there are pathways for people to walk and a few benches on the side. Somewhere in the area is even a big playground. She once tried to play there, but was chased away by the parents and guardians of the children. Instead she goes to a more quiet spot; a fish pond is located at the park surrounded by a few benches for people to sit. When she arrives she sits down on the grass right in front of the pond, observing the fish swimming with a small smile on her face.
Maybe thirty minutes later, someone comes to sit on the bench a bit futher behind her. She paid no mind to the adult and keeps going onto her business. Barely four minutes had passed and she starts to overhear a conversation between two adult men, both sounding a bit old in age. The first voice says "Hey sir, not to interrupt your day, but right in front of you is a homeless child. Tought you should know", then a second voice replies, "Is that so...?" He ponders shortly before continuing, "Why do ya believe I should be concerned?" The first man replies with "You don't know what she can do! She might steal you in broad daylight seeing your condition. In my opinion you better move elsewhere before she even approaches you!"
As per usual, they judge before they think. Adults are so full of themselves and rude! No wonder she rather stay alone. Surprisingly, the second man says to the other, "bold of you to assume I'm weak just because I can't see. Also, don't you believe it's better to mind your business than to talk behind someone's back that are clearly hearing you?". That's odd, did this adult just defend her? She brushes the tought away like dust, it's not like he actually gives a damn. The first man seemed to scoff and roughly reply "Suit yourself! Don't be upset if your wallet ends up gone!", He then walks off.
She sighs, happy that the mean adult decided to finally leave. As soon as she proceeded spotting the fish, she suddenly hears footsteps and the rustling of a cane against the grass approach her. Once the man that was on the bench arrived beside her, she focused her attention on him. Beside her stood what seemed to be a blind man. She knew that because all blind people carry a striped cane and some might wear sunglasses, just like him. In her opinion, his attire seemed very monotone. He wore a long brown jacket, his pants where of a darker shade of brown, and his shoes where blue. He even wore a hat which seemed to have a close colour to his jacket . His hair seemed to be a shade of hazelnut and his skin seemed almost chalky. On closer inspection he seemed to have some sort of a mustache and a few stubbles of facial hair. He didn't look unkept, but it was an odd sight to her.
The man stood there for a second, than asked "Is anyone here?". Why was he asking?; She wondered. Confused she replied "Uh..yea?". The man seemed reliefed of the answer, then once more he asked "May I...sit down?" Now even more confused, she wondered why he even asked for her permission. Before she replied she scooted away to her left, than told him with an unsure tone "Sure...I guess...?". With a slight grunt, the man sat down in a cross legged manner next to her and placed the cane by his side. Following the instinct of his ears he averted his "sight" roughly to her direction...and smiled? It wasn't just a quick smile, it looked genuine, almost caring.
Why is this random adult behaving like this? He shouldn't even be talking to her. She just looked to the front, almost ignoring him. There where a few moments of quiteness until he broke the silence once more "How are you doing?". Why did he care? He doesn't need her concern. Not to sound rude she shortly replied "Good". He nodded, satisfied with the answer. More quiteness surrounded them both, and once again he breaks it "My name is Roger", he suddenly introduced himself; "Do you have a name ?" Now he's asking for her name? What is he up to? She stayed silent for a moment, but she eventually obliged " I'm...Raven".
He raised his brows with amusement, smiling again, "Ahh, that's a very nice name you have!" Okay now she's totally lost. What is up with him? Is he trying to befriend her? Why is a random adult acting so...nice to her? "Thanks...i guess" is all she could answer back. Once more, there was a moment of silence, but apparently he's not done with the conversation yet, "Say kid... is it true that you're homeless?" What kind of question is that? Is he in denial of what the other man said? With a heavy sigh and an almost annoyed tone she replies" Yes, I am. I believe you heard the other guy tell you" she exclaimed looking aside. With a patient smile he responds, "Oh yea I heard him! I just wanted to make sure he wasn't making things up". She scoffs a bit "Bold of you to trust yourself sitting next to a potentially untrustworthy child". He chuckles a bit at her response, "And you actually believe what he says?" Glaring at him she replies "Why shouldn't you? I'm telling you I have no where to live and yet you're trying to have a conversation with me!"
He was a bit taken aback with her reply, but he softly smiles and says "Can't blame ya. I'm just a random old blind man trying to befriend a lonely child" She sighs heavily as she puts up her knees against her chest and look away from him. She so confused. He doesn't even know her yet he's being so nice! One snarky response would have made any adult visibly upset at her. Not him though, he's.... different. He's calm, patient, and she can almost feel a sense of security coming from him. This whole situation is instead making her visibly upset. Is her loneliness playing with her feelings? Out of frustration she asks, "What do you need from me, sir?" She's aware of his name, but doesn't want to address it. He's an untrustworthy adult, nothing more. He seems to ponder on his answer before responding "Nothing much really. I just thought of... chatting with ya for a bit".
Chatting? She tought; "So you just suddenly decided to talk to me out of boredom or out of pity?" She spat back with a snarky tone. She could see that he acknowledged her behaviour. Good! Maybe he will leave her alone. Nobody likes an attitude. But for some reason he doesn't budge from her side, "Hmm...it seems you're not a fan of conversations, isn't it?" Well atleast he managed to be right for once! Her patience was running thin, so she tells him whatever is currently on her mind "It's not like everyday that a random adult like you suddenly comes up to me and thinks: 'Hey! Let me chat with this potentially dangerous child living in the streets!'. Do you hear how stupid that sounds?"
He looked astonished; maybe even offended? She could see his hands curl into fists. Maybe she was testing the waters a bit too much. The last thing she needs is a beating from a blind man. As if by her natural instincts she quickly tries to apologize, something she hasn't done in a long time "I'm... I'm sorry I-I didn't mean to call you stupid..." She stuttered a bit in her words. He didn't even reply and yet her Fight or Flight instincts were already kicking in, ready to bolt off incase of any violent actions. Much to her surprise, he remained calm, but he seemed to feel disappointed for some reason; "I believe you've gotten used to putting yourself under a bad light cause' ya hear others talk negatively about you, am I right?" She looked at him in confusion, but before she could answer he continues; "I don't know why anyone would say such horrible things to a child. What's even worse, is that you believe them" he paused for a moment "I don't. I believe you're an amazing child! You sound bright, but also defensive. You're acting distant so you avoid getting hurt. My theory is that you've been hurt before, that's why you are showing off with an attitude. And I also believe you did that on purpose so you could force me to leave you be. Did I guess that right?"
Flabbergasted, is what she feels right now. Why did she feel... Personally attacked? How did he know what she felt and tought? Honestly she can't understand the situation anymore. As if offended by what he said, she stands up and decides to give him a piece of her mind "Okay, mister! I don't know what the hell is your point of all this right now; but if you wanna be all personal with me, than allow me to get personal with you!" At this point, she doesn't care what she'll say next "I Don't Trust Adults! They're mean, rude, and full of themselves! They always want to be right! They never admit they're wrong! And all they do is boss around because they're older than me!" She's not done yet; "and you wanna know what else? If I won't trust any random grown up, don't expect me to trust you!" She points a finger at him "Just because you wanna act like "Mister Nice Guy" doesn't mean that I will feel better! All the adults I knew hurt me! And You won't be much of a difference either! So whatever plan you have mind right now, better forget it. Understand!"
All she had stored in her chest had suddenly erupted in a massive rant. You could say she actually felt better to finally express her anger and hatred; but this feeling didn't last for long. This man....Roger...he "looked" at her with a pained expression. He didn't expect her to lash out at him in such a manner, and all those words must have hit something in him. He wasn't angry, he didn't get mad, he didn't even dare to raise a finger! All he did was sulk and look down; "I...I see...." Is all he mustered to say in a croaked tone. She inspected his behaviour; he slightly fiddled with his hands, his breathing had changed patterns...and was that a tear rolling down his cheek?
She couldn't believe it, he was actually crying! She never knew adults where capable of a such a thing! All she knew is that their hearts where too cold to experience anything. Apperently not his. For the first time in a long while, she felt guilty of her actions. Her own heart was becoming cold, and she realized that as soon as he silently cried. She hated that feeling. She never liked being mean! All those emotions had hit her all together, and didn't know how to fix it. She took a deep breath and sat back down, her knees once more against her chest. She was overwhelmed with frustration. All he was trying to do is earn her trust, and all she did was shut him down. At this point, her own tears started to flow, as she buried her face into her arms and wept.
Roger took notice of her crying; it pained him to hear her weep. He was tempted to reach out his hand and comfort her, but he quickly changed his mind in fear of scaring her off. They both went silent, Raven still occupied in her crying. As soon as she calmed down and wiped away her tears, she broke the silence "I'm... sorry...", She managed to say with a sniffle in between her words. Roger didn't say anything at first, but decided to share his own toughts "What you just said... really hurt". Wonderful, now she feels even more guilty.
He continues, "It didn't hurt because you lashed out at me, it hurt cause of the way you grew up to believe how people are in your perspective" He wasn't offended, he was just sad to hear what adults are to her. "I may not know what you went through, but I can feel that you're in pain. You built a wall to avoid having your feelings hurt again. I get it, you can't trust me despite my efforts of showing you kindness. You believe that once I earned your trust, I will break it". He was right, she did believe he would hurt her if she let her guard down. She trusted the people that gave her life, she trusted the people that where supposed to protect her, but none of them took in consideration of her feelings.
Since he was right, she might as well open up and tell him what she really feels; "I want to trust you....but I'm not sure if I should...." she goes quiet for a moment, but she resumes; "It's not easy after you learn that your own parents never loved or cared for you. To be ignored after your new sibling came around. Losing the only person that really loved you...to be abandoned..."She choked up on her words as tears resumed to flow. Roger couldn't believe his ears. This poor girl had went through hell for her entire life. He decided to join in the subject and gently coax her to open up more to him, "What made you believe that your parents never loved you? Apart from abandoning you?", She knew he was searching for clear answers, "They never said, or showed. All they did was say and do things that hurt. I....I loved them... thinking they might have somehow loved me in their own way!.... But I was too stupid to realise back then....Was I stupid to love them?" She looked up at him with a hopeful expression, for an answer. His face softened at her question.
"Not at all! You couldn't know better back then! It wasn't stupid that you loved them. It was natural of you to express and search for their affection. I'm sorry to hear that they never acknowledged it". She could hear he was genuinely sad for her. He didn't just pretend to listen, he actually acknowledged her thoughts. She wiped away her damp tears as she stared at the water once more, looking at the ripples the fish where making; until she suddenly turned her attention to Roger and blurted out an apology, "I'm very, very sorry for what I said before I didn't mean to make you cry!" He looked at her in surprise, and softly smiled "It's okay, dear. I admit I might be a bit too emotional sometime" he softly chuckled at his own remark as he wiped his tears away from underneath his glasses.
His behaviour amused her. Unknowingly, she smiled a bit, "I don't think that's bad. My pa' always said that strong emotions mean you have a big heart and that you care alot". Roger smirked at her remarks "He sounded like a very wise man" he exclaimed. He decided to go a step further and ask a bit more about her past, "If I may ask, who was your "pa' "? Was it someone you considered as a ' Father Figure '?" Surprisingly for him, she didn't seem bothered by his question. She's finally warming up; "It was! He was my grandfather!" She beamed as she continues, "His name was Paul Evergreen. He was the best grandpa I could ever have! He was so kind, caring, loving, all the nice things you could think of. I would always call him 'Papa' ' because he acted like a second dad. He loved spending time with me! We would play, draw, i even helped him out in his garden! He Loved his plants, and I would always be by his side trying to help him out! I may have accidentally pulled out a few flowers he just planted..but he would always help me plant them back".
He could sense she was smiling as she excitedly explained and talked about her grandfather. It warmed up his soul to hear her happiness in her voice, softly smiling as he listened. Raven went on; "and whenever I spent the night at his house, he would always let me cuddle up to him and sing me a song to help me sleep.." she stared into the horizon with a soft smile on her face " I would always listen to his heart beat so once I doze off I'll know I wasn't alone, and that he would always be with me..." She paused for a moment, recalling the memory " every time I can remember his warm hugs, and his voice so gentle and soft. Sometimes it feels like he's still with me...." She finally snaps out of her 'trance', and realise she that she has been rambling this whole time. Quickly she starts to apologize, "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to talk for long! I probably just bored you out of your mind".
He reassures to her, "Absolutely not! In fact, I actually enjoyed listening to you talk about your grandfather. He really seemed like an amazing man with a heart of gold!" He thought carefully for his next question "Seeing you used alot of Past Tense, I assume he's... not around us anymore?". She hung her head as she sadly replied; "Yea....I saw him die when I was younger, and it was really scary..." Her voice was cracking up, and he noticed. He was regreting to have even asked such a sensible question; "I-I truly apologize, It was rude of me to even ask in the first place!" She shrugged it off, "It's okay... I've gotten used to it" Now he really felt bad. Before he could say anything else he noticed that she had moved closer to him. He could sense her presence, he also heard her scoot over to his side.
He suddenly felt as if he just gained the trust of a stray kitten. It gave him a sort of fuzzy feeling in his chest. Still he kept his composure, not wanting to freak her out with any irrational behaviour. They both went quite, until Raven breaks the silence, "You know... you're the only adult I met so far who was very nice to me. I really appreciate, Roger" This filled his heart with glee. He knew he was finally making her see things under a different light. That feeling got cut short when she suddenly said "Your kids must be very lucky to have a Dad like you". For a second he thought his heart just stopped and restarted at the same time. Somehow, she thought that he was a Father! It could have been his caring nature that gave off such an impression. He quickly cleared his throat as he had to confess; "I uh- I appreciate your compliment Raven but Um...I actually don't have any children of my own. I live alone." She quickly exclaims an 'oh!' as she quickly apologies again, the atmosphere suddenly getting awkward.
He had to fix the situation quick! " B-but I was actually planning to adopt one day!" That was close, he thought. She nodded "Ah... that's nice.... Whoever you'll choose from the orphanage will be very lucky". That went even worse...but he knew what he was doing this time. He still had the chance to fix things up! "If I may be honest with you, I've actually already met an amazing child!" She barely smiled, "You did? Are they a boy or a girl?" He decides to answer her question, "It's a little girl... maybe around your age" She hums with amusement "That's interesting". He goes on describing this 'child' a bit more, "She's very sensitive... got a strong spirit.... is pretty timid and doesn't trust everyone that easily, especially adults..." She giggles a bit "I understand her alot" He continues, "she's got a lot of love and affection to share, but her current situation prevents her from doing so.." Raven chimes in, "That's so sad!" He resumes once more, "but I know that once she's broken out of her shell she will be a different child! There might be some unsolved issues she still has, but I will do everything to help her grow and have a normal life!" She smiles, even tough it's painful, "She sounds really amazing.... I'm positive she'll be happy to have you as her parent".
She pauses for a moment "What's their name?" He holds back a giggle as he answers, "Weelll...~" he says with a playful tone "her name starts with a Letter....R~" Her little mind starts to think hard " Huh, it could be anything! Rose...Rachel...Robin...Regina...Raisa... Ruby...Rita...." He chuckles a bit, "I will help you out. Her name is...Raven". She looks at him with amusement "Wooww...", Her reaction left him a bit surprised, he expected more than that. She continues, "I didn't know there could be others with my same name!" As soon as she said that, he was speechless, until he suddenly bursted out laughing. Raven was confused of his sudden reaction, unsure of what she said, "why are you laughing? I didn't say anything funny! If it's about me not knowing others can have my same name than its not funny at all!" He takes a minute to regain his composure as he turns at her and exclaim "Oh my God sweetheart you are absolutely adorable!" He tries to not laugh as he fails "It's You! I've been talking about you this whole time! You're the child that I wish to adopt!"
At that moment, Raven's realization seemed to have crashed down on her. She went quiet and just stared at him, only her thoughts where left. Did she hear him right? This random blind man wants to adopt her? A miserable unwanted girl living in the streets of the city? Where no one wants to have anything to do with her? She wanted to say anything, but all that came out of her lips was; "What?" She questioned as if she hasn't heard him the first time. Roger knew that she was probably in shock of the news, so he kindly repeats himself slowly and properly, "You're the child that I wish to adopt". He can't be serious, she tought. It took her a moment to even register these words. She should be feeling happy, right? Why was the only thing she felt was dread? Is she afraid the same thing will happen all over? Did she trust him too quick? Her mind was spinning with all sorts of thoughts. She stepped a bit away, her breathing quickened, she slightly paced left and right, her mind was racing, she couldn't believe such a thing was happening!
Noticing her reaction, Roger got a bit concerned. He tried to reach out for her but she quickly turned at him, "You can't be serious right?". That took him by surprise. Despite being clear of his good intents she became in denial. He shifted his position onto his knees to ' face her ', "Of course I am! Why would I be lying?" Raven was quick to repeat the same question, "You can't be serious, right??", But that wasn't all, " There are other kids in need that you could choose, why me? Out of all of them why me??" He tried to answer but was quickly cut off, "You don't want me! Nobody wants me! Neither my own parents wanted me!" Tears resumed to flow from her face; She was scared. Confused. She didn't know if this whole thing should have happened. Roger desperately tried to explain, "But Raven-" and once more she interrupted him "I'm just a living dissapointed! A mistake! You will hate me! Everyone hates me! I'm just a stupid freak that shouldn't have existed! I don't deserve this! I don't deserve anything! I never deserved anything!!"
All the things that have been told to her suddenly had risen to the surface. Every emotional abuse she endured got engraved in her mind. They made her believe she was a mistake, they made her believe she was a disappointment, they made her believe she never deserved anything nice in the world. He once more tried to interrupt her, "Raven-!" But she wouldn't listen, "I should have never existed!! I should have been dead!! I Should Have Never Been Born!!!
"RAVEN!"
Her head snapped at his direction, her body recoiled in fear as soon as he shouted her name, her face stained with a flow of tears. He had enough, he didn't want to hear a single negative word coming out of her. He took a deep breath, than he exhaled, it was time for him to talk now, "They're not here anymore... They can't hurt you.. you do not deserve to believe such horrible things! You deserve the whole world! You deserve someone that loves you..!" He said as he reached his right arm out for her. His hand approached her face. He noticed her flinch away from his touch, afraid of being hurt. He slightly pulled away as he gave her a second to adjust, and then presumed to gently wipe her tears away and gently cup her cheek into his hand. For the first time, he could visualise this poor, frightened, little girl. She was so small, she seemed very young, but her living conditions could have been at fault of her height. Inspecting more the structure of her face, she seemed fairly normal to him. A normal, adorable child. Feeling puzzled why she would call herself a freak; "...I want to be the one to help you grow into a happier life! I don't care what others may think if you, and I don't care if you're homeless or not! You're a child, a living human deserving of affection, and knowing you'll be safe under my care will make me even happier. You've suffered enough, little child. Let me help you, and I promise I will do my absolute best to give you all the love and care that you deserve!"
Meanwhile, Raven was in absolute bliss. As soon as he gently cupped her cheek, her rushing mind suddenly stopped. After a long time without any sort of physical contact, she finally got to re-experience what Affection felt like. You could say she was practically touch starved. With a relieved sigh, after listening to his words, she closed her eyes and softly nuzzled into the palm of his hand, enjoying the comfort of this man's gentle nature. As for Roger, another tear threatened to escape from his blind eyes. After a trial of ups and mostly downs, he feels glad to have finally gained her trust, and change her perspective of the world. It wasn't fair for her to mature quickly and loose her childhood. She deserves to regain it and go back to being a child.
Out of the blue, Raven suddenly bolts to him and wrap her little arms around his torso, giving him the strongest hug she could ever give in a long time. If his heart could have skipped out of his chest it would have already done it. His emotions suddenly got too overwhelming as his own water works got out of control. He slowly and softly huged her back. Her frame was so small and fragile he was afraid that even the slightest use of force would hurt her. He tightly, yet gently, pressed her against his chest, "I swear, I will be the best guardian you could ever have! And I Will love you as if you where my own".
All of this felt like a dream to her. She was doubting if this was really happening, if all the words and promises he gave where true; but they where. After finally accepting the whole situation, that not all adults are evil, that all the bad things she was told are all lies, and that she does deserve to be happy, she softly says, "Thank you...and I promise I will be a good girl". This couldn't make Roger even more happier. It might have been an indirect answer, but he'll take her response as a ' Yes '. He then breaks the hug to have her look at him, "Now then! Shall we go to your new home? I bet you're eager to finally have a roof over your head", he smirked. Raven was physically excited to finally have a home, but she didn't want to somehow sound rude, "Y-yea! I..I am eager.."; she sounded so shy, but it didn't matter, he was happy to help her out and give her a new proper childhood.
He smiled as he reached out for his walking cane, slowly standing back up with a grunt as he stretched his back, popping a few joints; "Alright! Let's go home then" he reached his hand out for her to hold. With a bit of hesitation she slowly put her hand in his, and Roger gently held back, and started walking off with her in tow. "I was thinking..." He started, "once we arrive home, I can draw ya a nice warm bath. Afterwards I can make us some dinner! I'm sure you haven't eaten properly in a while". He was right, it was maybe three days that she hasn't been able to find anything to eat, neither left overs from out door cafés or restaurants. Heck, she couldn't even find anything decent from the public trash cans. But instead of listing her toughts, she just acknowledges his kind offer "It all sounds lovely! I really appreciate it", she said with a smile. So polite and greatful, is what he thought. He'll make sure to atleast spoil her just a bit, for his own sake.
They barely got far enough from the fish pond as Raven soon noticed a lady staring at them from the distance. Her feet suddenly froze, causing to stop Roger abruptly in his steps. "What's wrong sweety? Is something wrong?" He asked, worried that she might have suddenly changed her mind. That wasn't the case, she realized that despite being now adopted, she was still homeless to whoever laid their eyes on them. Suddenly she could feel everyone's eyes stare on both her and Roger, even if there weren't as much people around. She quickly pulled her hand away from him and stepped back, nervously looking around to make sure no one else saw them. The poor old coot is now worried for this childs behaviour, "Raven, what's going on? Did... did I somehow make you feel uncomfortable?" He was praying that he wasn't the problem. They got this far and he was already afraid to loose her. Thankfully, that wasn't the issue, "Nonononono! You didn't do anything! It's just that...well...um.... can't you tell me where you live so I can come to your home at night?" Now he was truly confused, "Why? You're gonna be safe with me! I will let no one lay a single finger on you!"
She had to make him understand, "Look, I know I'll be having a home soon but-!....Even if you just adopted me, I'm still homeless to whoever sees me! They might try to chase me away! I could somehow get you in trouble! I don't want to attract any attention on me and your safety!" As if degrading herself wasn't enough, now she's considering herself as a bad omen. He wasn't going to give up that easily. He would do anything to bring her home to safety, and at the same time make her feel less nervous and more comfortable. An idea suddenly popped into his mind, and he quickly started to loosen up the belt around his waist and unbutton half of his coat. Raven looked at him with a puzzled look, "What are you doing..?" Once he was done, he got onto one knee to match her level, "I need you to come closer to me". She still wasn't sure what was on his mind, but she obliged anyway. He stretched his arms out as if he was ready to pick her up, and explained his intentions, "Now what I'm going to should help you feel more secure and have less attention drawn to you. But, if you start feeling uncomfortable being close to me, don't hesitate to tell me! I only want to make sure you feel less anxious".
She listened carefully, but she still didn't know what he was planning. Since she already trusted him she only replies with, "Okay". That was his go ahead. He then swiftly picked her up, earning a small yelp from Raven, and gently pressed her against his chest, her head almost at the crook of his neck. He kept her legs curled up against herself as he started tucking her in his coat. Once done he proceeded to button back up, and after that he tightened back his belt even more, making sure she was secured in place. He then placed a hand on her and slowly stood up making sure to not loose his balance. She was now tucked into his coat like a baby kangaroo inside a pouch. After a short exhale he smiled with a satisfied expression, and addressed his attention back to her, "Are you doing okay?" She couldn't really speak at first. All she knew is how close she was to him. She registered this whole scenario and surprisingly, she felt very safe and comfortable, "Y-yea! I'm... doing okay..". He was glad that she now felt more relaxed, and gently patted at her, "Great! Now, off we go!". Steadily, he started walking off pretty easily. He now realized how extremely light she felt. It's almost as if he wasn't carrying anything! And her small stature made it easily for him to tuck her away from plain view.
Raven almost couldn't believe what was happening. For the first time she felt extremely secure and wasn't afraid anymore. While he walked, she started to take more notice of the moment. She could feel the warmth he was emitting, making her body relax more and warming her up from the cold air. She could feel his chest rising and falling with each breath he took, she even noticed the smell of wood shavings coming off his coat. But what caught her attention the most, was his heartbeat. She could hear it beating from beneath his chest. It was strong, yet almost gentle. She recalled the times she would calm down whenever she heard her grandfather's heart beat after a bad nightmare, or whenever she was sad and he would let her cuddle up to him. How she knew that she wasn't alone, not anymore. While she was busy having pleasent thoughts, she failed to realise her eyes where slowly getting heavier. She hadn't had a proper sleep routine for a long time, and for the first time, she was actually relaxed enough to snooze off. Before falling asleep, she nuzzled closer to Roger, completely hiding her head from plain view. He noticed her body was getting limp, meaning that she was falling asleep. He could feel the butterflies fluttered in his stomach as he knew she let herself become vulnerable around his presence, thus fully trusting him to keep safe. With a bright smile on his face, he softly said to her, "I will treat you like a princess". It was a beautiful day, the sky was clear and the sun shone brightly. It was now, a perfect day indeed.

This was fun to write!😁
Yes I know, it's a BIT long, but I feel happy of the outcome!
The whole idea is based about the first time my oc Child Raven have met with Horrorartist23's Human Roger, a.k.a. Roger Willington.
What I did was basically a re-imagine of Raven's and Roger's first meet up.
It might have been cheesy at times, but I'm kinda prone to cheesiness 😅😅
Roger belongs to @horrorartist23
Here’s the full line up for the BeetleDave au!
(ignore my human roger design)
You and I...together!
Now I actually managed to draw a good picture of Roger. The sweet boi. I wanted to make his hair fluffier and like a god. It works very well for him
Ok here it is. It took me all day but im proud of it.
This was based of the third httyd movie when the lightfury and toothless flew together to the hidden world. Now its just victor and roger
