I remember sending you my interpretation of a Humanized Spotify
So if I may ask, how would you design a Humanized Spotify?
I don't know about the community around Spotify or what their personality would be like, so I had to go off of their UI (user interface) more than I usually would. Either way, this is my interpretation!
Spotify is a generally dark themed website and they feature POC artists, so I thought it fitting to give them darker skin. (Plus there's a TON of black history when it comes to music and the development of different genres). Their hair is also supposed to reference their logo!
The stripey gloves are a reference to the albums/artists they feature, while the hip chains are the playlists on the home page. Not sure if this is just my area, but the baggy low rise pants came back into fashion I think? I've been seeing them a lot more and wanted to try drawing them on a character.
This seemed fitting though I worry it's a bit... stereotypical? I don't mind changing that element if it is. Like I said, I don't really know the vibe with Spotify so let me know if I got something wrong!
Not sure if I asked you this question or not but I remember something about a Human! Spotify and I decided to try my hand at making one on my own!
Spotify probably doesn't count as a website(?) but this was still really fun to make.
Tbh I quite like this design! I could tell who it was even without reading the text XD there's some minor color changes I might suggest, but otherwise this is really good!! (I also like the detail of the three lines for the beard cause it mimics Spotify's logo lol)
You know... I was very confused by the "Doesn't count as a website" comment before I remembered that there are people who don't remember the time before apps were a thing. So, I am here to educate!
Spotify is a website. You can find it at www.spotify.com, but it will redirect you to open.spotify.com, which will then try to open your app. The app is simply a program/executable that allows you to connect to their servers. The point of apps is to better collect data about your location, interests, and mood. This makes you far easier to advertise to, therefore it's far easier to make money off you.
(Plus it means they have more control over what you see, how the app looks, and it allows them to hide the code of the website.)
However, you can absolutely listen to Spotify without using the app! Instead of just clicking on the link, hit "Open in a new tab". You may also need to adjust app permissions for your search browser. If it tries to redirect you, click Block or No. Then it should take you to the main site where you can log in.
This also applies to many other apps (Though some may have functionality that's exclusive to the app). Tumblr, for example, was known for being a desktop site. There's a function where you can open your blog separately from Tumblr, and that allows you to use basic HTML & CSS to change the look of your blog! It is something you have to enable and blog settings though.
