Just wanted an excuse to draw Roumio in his human form. He’s not exactly badass, but he’ll kick someone’s butt if you force him.

I guess I’ll be shouting out to the one person who wants to see this through:
ROUMIO AND AERYS’ WEDDING
More Humanbound!Kanjigar headcanons please!
Ooh, I’m not sure what headcanons to put in, but perhaps a backstory would be good?

They already knew each other before Kanjigar was even soulbound to him.
Well, here’s the story.
Roumio was travelling back to Arcadia with his parents for the holidays, and it was a stormy night. Rain was super heavy, his dad (who was driving) couldn’t see anything. They had to move fast because it was getting more and more dangerous the longer they weren’t outside town, but building speed makes you more susceptible to accidents.
That’s when they skidded off the road, crashed through the bridge and into the flooded canal.
Kanjigar was on patrol in that particular bridge that night, and he saw the car veer through the railing and into the water. He knew he couldn’t let himself be seen by humans, lest the old accords be broken. He could’ve left them alone to die, but he didn’t.
He decided to rescue them.
It wasn’t easy, given how fast the river was flowing and his limited time to get them out before they drowned, but he got them out. He knew he shouldn’t bring them to Trollmarket, but he did. Something told him to save them.
Roumio’s parents were unconscious, and he himself was half-awake, so he doesn’t remember much of what happened. All he knew was that there was someone big in shining armor who saved him that night.

If that’s not enough for you, maybe I could... introduce a character?
His name is Aerys (pronounced Eris), and he is Roumio’s best childhood friend from Arcadia. I mean childhood friend because Roumio moved across the country (since his parents are professional chefs, which gave him his culinary background). Among all of Roumio’s childhood friends from Arcadia, Aerys is the only one who stuck with him when he first left, and they have been in constant communication ever since.
Aerys is a descendant of Araknak, the famous Pannoxi Trollhunter, who is afflicted with a blood curse: he will start transforming into a troll at his 16th birthday, and by his 18th he will be a full troll. He was the reason why Roumio moved back to Arcadia, where Kanjigar became soulbound to him and setting the motion of this AU.

Why am I seeing kanjigar being confused about human stuff?
There’s a difference between knowing things and actually living them.
Kanjigar isn’t entirely confused about human stuff - he’s observed them during his evening patrols. Their patterns, behaviors, and the like. But he’s only seen from his perspective, what he had learned about humans as a troll, not as a human.
Now that he’s soulbound to an *actual* human, the things he thought were one thing for them trolls are completely different from a mortal, more human point of view. Living with Roumio has definitely made him appreciate humans more, and give them respect he never did before.
It’s one thing being a bystander. It’s another thing being the viewpoint. And that’s an important aspect in this AU.
Both did not wish to be with the other, but they have to in order to survive.
Embracing their new lives as part of one, will they find that inner peace as part of a duality, or will their contrasting colors tear them apart?
To the anon who gave me “internal and external screaming”, here’s the external one. You’re welcome 😉😉😉
