peaceful violence

the phrase “humane slaughter” is bandied around a lot in the animal rights discussion.

the definition of humane is  “having or showing compassion or benevolence”

for slaughter it simply says “kill”

a kind death, a compassionate slaying, a nice murder, killed gently what that phrase is trying to make us believe is that this violence is peaceful
