one of my pieces for the humanity zine, a charity zine i put together. you can buy it now @humanityobmz for only ten dollars, and receive a pdf with over sixty-five pages of content! act fast because orders close at the end of february!!

“Careful, my lord.” Diavolo starts, twisting to look at Barbatos even as he hates to tear his eyes away from you. “Don’t go getting too attached, now. You and that human lead very different lives.”

“I know,” Diavolo murmurs, turning to look at you once more. You’re laughing, and his heart pangs.

“But it’s hard,” he continues, “They’ve got this magnetic field that just draws me in.”

“Not only you,” Barbatos says wisely, eyes flickering over the brothers. “Be mindful of that, my lord.”

Diavolo follows his gaze to Lucifer, who’s watching you as well, a small smile curving across his lips.

Lucifer, feeling the eyes on him, tuned to Diavolo and raised his glass, crimson eyes flashing. Diavolo goes the same with his own goblet, swallowing. Lucifer had done so much for him in his time in the Devildom, had sacrificed so much, and Diavolo knew he’d be willing to sacrifice you for him if he even had the slightest idea Diavolo had become attached.

And that just wasn’t fair at all. So he’d suffer in silence, watch Lucifer slowly let down his walls and open up, and do his best to be happy for him.

After all, Diavolo had never been anything but a demon. Lucifer, though, he’d once been an angel, meaning he still had goodness inside of him. Goodness he and you both deserved.

Barbatos’ hand found Diavolo’s arm in a rare show of impropriety, giving him a comfortable squeeze. He’d manage. He always had.

Hello! The zine PDF is officially finished as are all of the extra designs! The zine turned out to be 70 pages, with nearly 65 pages of content, there is one postcard, two charm designs, and four stickers! It’s insane to think about!!

CHAPTER 3 : THE CASE OF RUSTY HOPES

A/N: absolutely enjoyed writing this chapter. was actually the part around which I built rest of the story. enjoy :)

Summary: Solomon and MC get stuck in a storm and decided to take shelter beneath a tree. mc had always had a crush on solomon and the opportunity to confess finally presented itsef. read ahead--

You took a step forward while a million thoughts raced in your mind. Heart pumping at a speed that made you dizzy while guiding your feet to what it wanted. "This was it.You can do it" mentally preparing yourself as he looked at you with fondness in his eyes. ’YOLO, afterall! Ain't it? Do it now!’

"Umm Solomon, there’s a little present I had for you. It’s a hand knit blanket infused with belphie's magic for a good sound sleep. I hope you use it after all those all nighters you pull”

“Ah, thank you MC. I appreciate it a lot” he opened it gently, to reveal a beautiful dark blue fleece blankets with little glittering silver stars and constellations woven on it, along with a note. Like his own personal blanket of earth's starry sky. You watched like a lovesick puppy, as he lifted the note in his hands.

“Dear Solomon,

Are you a wizard? Because, you have cast a spell on me! 🪄

I like you, Solomon; and, there’s no one in the 3 realms, I did rather be with, than You.

I am yours. Will you be mine?

Yours always, MC."

The winds started howled, cutting through branches of trees, as if, they were merely twigs. The pitter patter of rain, the only sound mingling with it, as a thick blanket of silence fell upon you.

Solomon kept staring at the note.

Seconds and minutes passed by, as you waited with abated breath. Struggling to come to the surface from this thick static silence, for it to finally end the storm brewing inside both of you.

Just 2 humans, in this strange land, with hearts beating like stereos out of tune with each other. Trying, shaking, reaching out to see through the other. One, for pure love and adoration. The other, full of sadness, remorse and repressed memories, of a bitter sweet love long forgotten. He may be selfish, but he was definitely, not a demon. How could he give something, that never really had belonging to him since a long time. He wasn't about to take it back. Immortal or not, was selfish love not a part of being a human? His heart already belonged to someone else and he would die before even thinking of changing that. One life. One love. And he was now blessed cursed to live a long life, albiet, a life without his one and only.

Numb. Realization. Guilt. Sadness. Anger. Settling on Helplessness and anguish. His emotions kept flickering through his face, as MC steeled her heart, for the inevitable rejection.

Desperation clearly clinging in his voice, as he finally spoke – “What else can I give you, MC? All the riches in the world, the best clothes and jewellery, power, land, castles? Just name and its yours. Just don’t ask me to love, for my heart lies shattered and buried 6 ft underground with my beloved.”

Deep breath. Just take a deep breath. What is this heavy weight on my chest. It's okay. Just breathe.

Holding back the tears threatning to roll over and completely wreck your body, you looked back up to him,

""It's okay Solomon. I will make do, with what we have.

Even if its just scraps of you, and, the whole of me."

We’re allowed to post these now! I participated in an OMSWD fanzine called Humanity with a bunch of other lovely collaborators and here is the piece I wrote!

Warnings: Mentions of amputation and broken bones. Mentions of ailurophobia, chrematophobia, and triskaidekaphobia. It’s not as bad as it sounds, trust me!

Notes: Third Person POV; MC Uses They/Them Pronouns

𝄃𝄃𝄂𝄂𝄀𝄁𝄃𝄂𝄂𝄃

Humans, Demons, and Angels. These three are the major species in the universe, known for their wide range of individuality, massive populations, and social orders. Of course, it’s rather easy to assume the Human species as weak, and this is somewhat true. Almost the entirety of their population has no belief in the supernatural or possesses any magical power. They are far more fragile than any newly created Angel, their bodies have a vast amount of limits, and they don’t live nearly as long as Demons or Angels.

So when a Human came to the Devildom for Lord Diavolo’s program, Lucifer was rightfully concerned. This Human had no power to speak of but will be surrounded by the supernatural for a year, particularly his rambunctious brothers. It pained him that in addition to worrying about Beelzebub’s hunger, Mammon’s spending, Satan’s brooding, Belphegor’s antics, Leviathan’s pessimism, and Asmodeus’ narcissism, he’ll have to watch over a mere Human. They were a sheep among wolves.

But just how much do the unearthly know about humans? Not enough. Though well-educated, neither the Angel nor Demon clans bothered to look deep into human nature.

After witnessing their dear MC fall down the stairs of the Demon Lord’s Castle and emerge from the shining floor without so much as a bruise, then later trip on their way to RAD coming up unharmed, they began to second guess the reputation that had been spread about Humans being feeble beings. They couldn’t go to Solomon as he wasn’t quite human anymore, but a powerful, immortal that most likely will never be backed into a corner.

“Haha!” Mammon kicked down the door, disturbing the Student Council meeting that he was late for.

“Mammon!” Lucifer slammed his hands on the table.

The second-born balanced books in his arms, creating a tower that leaned with every movement he made. “Before ya scold me, look what I got from Solomon!” He dropped the stack onto the table, a loud echo ricocheting throughout the room as they fell to the wooden table. “They’re books on human psychology and history and stuff!” He probably didn’t know what half of the books were about.

Satan picked a leatherback from the pile, glossing over the yellow-stained pages. “And just what are we supposed to do with these?”

“I’m so glad you asked, my clueless little brother!” That ridiculous grin of his nearly made Satan snap. Mammon took a seat in his respective chair. “So remember when MC fell yesterday and acted as nothing happened? That kind of reaction is nothing like the reputation we’ve had about humans. I thought we should do more research!”

“Stupid Mammon…” Levi grumbled, a red light illuminating his face revealing that he had lost his game. “We don’t have time to deal with that--”

“Great idea!” Diavolo’s voice made Leviathan choke on his words.

“Lord Diavolo, you can’t be serious.” Lucifer breathed, knowing just how important their current work was to accomplish.

“Don’t just sit there! Get reading!”

They wish they hadn’t.

Humans are so much tougher and more unsettling than they thought. Humans can go days without food and water. Humans will go to unimaginable limits in order to survive, from walking on broken bones to cutting off their own limbs. With training, humans can possibly hold their breath for up to eleven minutes and survive in altitudes of at least 15,000 feet.

Some humans have irrational fears. Satan found it hard to believe that ailurophobia, the fear of cats, could exist. Chrematophobia, the fear of money, poor Mammon nearly passed out while reading. Triskaidekaphobia, the fear of the number thirteen, was probably the most absurd one they came across, but they decided that little fears like that weren’t the most abnormal thing about the human race.

Humans pack-bond, which isn’t common among the Demons and Angels, but humans pack-bond with the most unlikely things. Humans will name inanimate objects, vehicles, toys, caterpillars they found in the woods, even rocks that they draw little faces on. Roombas, a human-built machine that serves as a vacuum, is the most common example of pack-bonding with inanimate objects. Not only do people name them, but they also pat the vacuum and thank it for its work even though it won’t respond.

Humans have ridiculous logic. They believe, especially children, that if they hide under a blanket, they are safe from harm. They think that nothing can hurt them in the light. They get scared if a shower curtain is closed. They run up basement stairs instead of walking, they think something will chase them.

Humans are strange. They spend years in school and some don’t even carry it out. Humans forget their childhood memories even though they form them into the person they become. Most humans don’t bother to understand their own anatomy. Humans put themselves in danger for the hell of it. Humans fight each other for little things like money and land.

Humans are…

“What?” MC finally voiced, irritated at the silence and many eyes that watched them. “Why are you all staring at me?!”

Weird.
