Ohh, Satan. The only one making a point to compare Satan to Lucifer is Satan himself. He is entirely his own person, a hard won identity of cats, intelligence, and self control, but he still sees Lucifer. He may have black hair he bleaches and when he sees roots in the mirror he wants to cry at the reminder he is Lucifer's accident baby so he destroys his reflection every time like it isn't his face there. Most of what he does is to avoid being like Lucifer, despite his hatred that makes his whole life centred around his mother in a self imposed cycle of pain. Satan's atrocious style is likely just him trying to avoid looking like Lucifer. The style itself is unusual and a little chaotic just like his mental state regarding his identity which is a foil to Lucifer who is very confident in his identity as a fallen angel and God's ex-fav. Maybe Lucifer had similar issues standing as a mindless extension of an unloving God considering how he hated who he was as an angel but he still found himself amongst his brothers and his convictions, and with that experience he wants Satan to find himself but has no idea what to do to help. Lucifer wants to help his poor child and Satan may only feel better once he gets away from his mother even if he still cares for Lucifer deeply. But even if Satan gets away from Lucifer physically, moving out and having his own place, will he still be consumed by thoughts of being Lucifer? Does moving away physically truly leave those thoughts behind or will Satan still carry Lucifer with him even to the ends of the triworlds where Lucifer is a name no one had heard of?
