Some days, being a mother means pretending you are strong so your children can sleep in peace.
I am a mother of three children. We lost our home. We lost our car — the only thing that allowed us to earn a living. Since then, survival has become a daily question with no clear answers.
There is no work. The borders are closed. I wake up every day wondering how to provide food, school needs, and medical care for my children.
My daughters are growing. They go to school now, carrying dreams bigger than our reality. School fees and supplies are a constant worry I cannot escape.
One of my daughters suffers from weak bones and malnutrition. She needs treatment and proper nutrition, things no child should have to wait for.
I am sharing this here not for sympathy, but for hope.
Hope that someone will read this and care.
Hope that a small act of kindness can protect three innocent lives.
If you are able to help or share, it would mean more than you know.
Thank you for listening.

I had the opportunity to illustrate the poster for YAYA- a documentary by Justin Cheung late last year. Went to the premier a few weeks back and got to see the film for the very first time! YAYA is a documentary that examines a domestic helper's relationship with a family she works for in Hong Kong and the family she has left behind in the Philippines. Find out more on the YAYA documentary facebook page. I hope you all get a chance to watch it! There is something deeply disturbing about people who build public respect through morality while privately exploiting, manipulating or harming others. Ethics becomes a costume instead of a principle.
