STEPS ON RELIEVING l This works for me
“Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body.”
Stress is unavoidable. It can happen to you anywhere you go: at school, home, work, etc..It has many negative effects on our body- may it be internal or external; psychological, physical or spiritual. Some of the negative effects are depression and worsening of diseases.
Students in La Salle Academy often experience stress especially during the Examination week and the PT Week (or the so-called “Hell Week”). Student’s definition could be:
S – tudents experiencing strained brain.
T - rying to comply the needed
R – equirements. Requirements that contribute to
“Every stress leaves an indelible scar, and the organism pays for its survival after a stressful situation by becoming a little older.”
General Adaptation from Selye’s theory can be applied when handling stress. It allows us to choose whether to ‘fight-or-flight’ from the situation. This theory is subdivided into three parts which are: (1.) Alarm Stage, (2) Resistance Stage and (3) Exhaustion Stage. With these three, we can somehow categorize how excessive stress is affecting our lives.
The STEPS I can suggest to others that have worked for me are:
1.) Be SINGLE (S.I.N.G.L.E)
Since, again, stress is really unavoidable, one being S.I.N.G.L.E would be a great help.
1. Identify what stresses you (Be open-minded for the results)
3. Try to consult professionals in the field for stress and seek help
5. Have an appropriate stress management planner
6. Be S.I.N.G.L.E and Positive Always!
Food is life.Food makes you happy.Happiness Reducing stress.
Music has always been my comforter to times that im stressed out. I really appreciate how music contributes to make my mood better. Listening to music that i am harmonized with, allowing me to forget all the anguishes in life even just for a short period of time.
“ The soothing power of music is well-established. It has a unique link to our emotions, so can be an extremely effective stress management tool.
Listening to music on headphones reduces stress and anxiety in hospital patients before and after surgery.Music can help reduce both the sensation and distress of both chronic pain and postoperative pain.”
Highly recommending the songs in Kpop since they are bright, jolly and really eargasmic.
Depriving your sleep could lead to stress.
5. Last but not the least, know when to fight or flight!
That is all for the subject matter. Thank reader for giving your time! Reminder: Be positive always okay?
