Shiro was a vet in his town before everything went down. - Sam and Matt are hunters and showed up at his practice needing help with “feral dogs.” - Shiro was more than helpful and got caught in the crossfire while the pair worked to take out the pack. - His arm took a toll and he was turned. -
The Holts took Shiro in to help him understand what was happening, teach him about the world of hunters and monsters. - Hunter networks exist, but their family operates outside of those because they don’t believe every supernatural being deserves to be taken out. - You’re a werewolf, that doesn’t mean you have to be a monster. -
Sam is the face of the family. - Matt’s reputation proceeds him when he meets other hunters. - Colleen is the backbone of the entire operation and everyone lives in fear of the day something bad enough comes along that requires her to re-enter the field. - Pidge is so cryptid and looks enough like Matt that other hunters don’t actually know it’s a family of four. -
Shiro lived with them for about a year. - Sam helped him figure out how to balance his diet and anticipate impulses. - Colleen developed a way for Shiro to control his transformations. He still changes, but not as often or as long as he normally would. - Matt and Shiro constantly try to out-nerd each other. It’s frustrating for Matt and funny for Shiro. - There’s only so many things Matt can blame Shiro’s paranormal abilities on. - Pidge learned everything Shiro knows about animal medicine, and together they explored his werewolf capabilities. - After Shiro has a better handle on himself, he decides it’s time to part ways to find his way in the world, promising to regularly check in with his little family. -
Keith is a hunter. - What he lacks in experience he more than makes up for in instinct and agility. - Keith came into hunting outside of his family, but so many things clicked into place when everyone learned Keith is the son of the infamous Krolia™ - He’s part of the Marmora hunting network headed up by Kolivan, but he mostly does his own thing and prefers to hunt alone. - Marmora hunters are known for being.. concise and unyielding. - Keith’s not too fond of sharing the fact his dad (status unknown) was a vampire the last time he saw him. - And that his best friend slash supernatural intel resource, Hunk, is a warlock. -
Keith moves through the world hunting, helping others, and looking for his dad. - He caught the trail of a particularly feral pack of werewolves and met Shiro when he saved him while tracking the pack. - Turns out Keith nor Hunk knew enough about this hunt. - Shiro teaches him everything there is to know about the various ways someone can become a werewolf, how they change, hunt, group, fight, - Keith takes down the pack. - Sheith Shoulder Touch -
Shiro and Keith become inseparable. - Keith brings Shiro to Marmora headquarters where he meets Krolia. Kolivan chuckles behind him whispering, “This is why I don’t have to give you a talk.” - It’s okay, Krolia approves. - The pair continue hunting together and become known as the authority on werewolves. - They grow close. It’s very gay. - H- hand holding. -
Shiro helps Keith whittle out some intel on a few vampire nests and learns about his dad. - Sheith Shoulder Touch - There are two groups that may have information on his status. - Keith and Shiro go to check out one of them while Krolia investigates the other. - Keith and Shiro’s hunt is the most intense mission they’ve ever been on, together or alone. - The vampire who might have known about Keith’s dad took a run at Shiro, and Keith, knowing full well who it was, killed him without hesitation. -
Shiro feels like he’s the reason they almost died and the mission was a bust. - Keith disagrees. - Sheith Shoulder Touch - Also, Tension™ - It gets harder for Shiro to manage his changes, probably because of the stress. - Krolia calls for help on her lead. - Shiro insists he needs to “check on a few things” and that Keith should go without him. - Sheith Hug -
Shiro returns to the Holts. - Matt is “super offended” that Shiro’s been hunting with someone else. - Pidge is bitter over the loss of her cryptid status at the hands of Matt’s glow up. - Sam is a ride or die Shiro stan. - Colleen and Pidge might have found a way to cure Shiro (it’s still too risky to try, must. research.) and have also improved on the method that helps him manage transformations. - Colleen gives relationship advice. -
Keith meets up with Krolia and they get their first real intel on dad in a long time. - But Hunk has to do some digging before they plan their next move. - Weeks pass. - Keith gets stir crazy and looks for a new hunt. -
He catches the trail of a really challenging werewolf. - This one’s hard to pin down because it doesn’t follow the normal patterns. This one’s smarter. - It’s slow but sure tracking. - He catches the wolf by surprise in a forest after several days. - Keith’s about to land the killing blow, but stops mid-fight because he knows those eyes. - Shiro changes back and tries to scare Keith away. - Keith is having none of it. - “I won’t give up on you. We’ll get through this together.” -
Shiro becomes an ally of the Marmora network under Keith’s protection. - Some of the hunters are wary and would rather,, reduce their risks. - They all shut up after Keith cleans the dirt with the first one to try something. - Krolia returns having pursued the vampire lead while Keith and Shiro worked through things. - Krolia is 100% down with Keith’s werewolf boyfriend.
