More College AU Hunter Husky (that's what I've decided I'm calling them) because there's a niche and I need to fill it. Caleb x Reader x Zayne throuple (Hunter Husky) fluffy drabble
Your eyes could barely stay open as the old lecturer droned on and on about something you had already learned about in the online reading, going over information you had heard a million times before. You kept glancing at the time on your phone, wishing that the minutes could pass by quicker and you could get out of this stuffy lecture hall faster. You had resorted to doodling in your notebook, covering the pages with puppies and hearts and little snowmen.
Not much longer now. The thought kept repeating in your head, just barely keeping you awake, but definitely not alert.
When the lecturer began his closing spiel, reminding the students of the essay due at the end of the week—the one you had already submitted—you threw your things into your bag and escaped as soon as you could. Without much thought, your feet carried you briskly towards the dorm building, up the many flights of stairs (the elevator was old and unreliable), and right to the door of your boyfriends' dorm.
You barely got the chance to knock before the door was swinging open with far too much force. You were pulled into a tight hug by a pair of strong arms, the door being kicked shut behind you.
"3:05." Zayne said from his desk, looking at his watch. "Right on time. Caleb has been sitting at the door since your class got out."
You giggled, letting yourself be plopped down onto the dorm's bed by Caleb, who sat right by you, unwilling to let you go now that he had you.
"Well, thanks to you, I'm always on time now." You replied to Zayne, resting your head against Caleb's chest. Zayne hummed as if he didn't believe you, closing his textbook and swivelling his chair around so he was facing where his two partners were seated.
Caleb practically purred at your affection, just as he usually did, resting his cheek against the top of your head, nuzzling against your skin with a warm sigh. "Why do you have to go to class?" He mumbled, his words moist against your skin, causing you to shiver in response. "You should just stay here with us."
"Zayne goes to class, too!" You tried to protest, only to be pulled down onto the mattress against him.
"Ok, and? Zayne shouldn't go to class either." He scoffed.
"And you should." Zayne's voice was firm, but not unkind. Caleb knew that no matter how many times he irritated his boyfriend, Zayne would never be unkind to him. He was always reasonable and level-headed, just what he needed to counterbalance himself. "How are you going to pass your finals if you don't go to class?"
"That's easy," Caleb laughed, patting the space on the bed beside you as a gesture for him to join the cuddle pile. "I'm naturally gifted, of course."
"You might be naturally gifted, but I don't know if you're that smart." You teased, snuggling back into Zayne as he joined the both of you.
"I'll show you naturally gifted!" Caleb laughed, practically lunging at you, pressing kisses all over your face as you squirmed between your boyfriends.
"Caleb-" Zayne sighed, only to be met with the same fate as you.
Caleb was just as excitable as a puppy, except quite a lot larger than one, and so you were almost crushed underneath him as he planted wet kisses and licks all over you and Zayne, his eyes closed in delight, so he often missed your faces and instead collided with your head or your ears or your neck. You rolled over, trying to shield yourself against Zayne's chest, his arms wrapping around you like a protective shield.
"When did we let this mutt into the room?" Zayne asked, a smile pulling at the corners of his lips.
"We didn't have a choice!" You squealed as Caleb nibbled at your neck, a chuckle rumbling through his chest. Eventually, he gave up, instead resigning himself to lying on top of you and Zayne.
The three of you fit together like a puzzle piece, even in a position as unconventional as the one you were in right now. Limbs tangled together, hearts beating, breath so close you couldn't tell who's was who's. This was where you loved being—surrounded by warmth and love, being at peace knowing that this little fraction of the world belonged to just you three, and you would savour it for as long as you possibly could.
