               HE  KNOWS  OF  DREW’S  TENDENCY  TO  LOCK  HIMSELF  UP.    He  won’t  pretend  to  understand  all  of  the  man’s  issues,  but  he’s  long  since  accepted  that  all  of  them  have  their  baggage.     It’s  only  natural  that  he’d  want  to  be  there  for  him,  and  it’s  exactly  why  he  crosses  the  short  distance  between  their  flats  until  he’s  at  his  bedroom  door,  kicking  briefly  before  pushing  the  door  open.

                ❛  yeah  well,  welcome  t’the  club.    now  shut  the  fuck  up  ‘n’  lemme  focus.  ❜

                 there’s  no  sympathy  in  his  voice,  only  a  vicious  concentration  as  he  secures  a  large  helping  of  gauze  around  his  husband’s  red  knuckles.    this  isn’t  a  new  happening,  but  every  time  it  occurs  crow  feels  a  little  closer  to  the  emptiness  lurking  inside.    it’s  something  that’s  never  been  overwritten,  just  ignored  in  favour  of  other,  more  interesting  feelings;    his  infatuation  with  his  lover;    his  hunger  for  prestige  and  purpose;    they’re  all  things  that  have  stolen  him  away  from  that  vapid  anger  that  has  been  brewing  beneath  the  surface  since  day  one,  and  he  intends  to  keep  focusing  on  them  instead.

                 i  don’t  feel  a  damn  thing.    how  many  times  has  he  spoken  the  exact  same  words  to  the  world?    to  his  therapist?   to  his  friends?    if  anyone  governs  that  phrase’s  club,  it’s  him.     /     @hurricvned

                ❛  Absolutely  not,  ❜     he  huffs,  taking  a  drag  from  his  cigarette  and  expelling smoke  into  the  cool  air.     The  Noughts’  gatherings  are  always  fun,  but  he  finds  himself having  to  take  breaks  when  the  drugs  come  into  the  picture.    Though  he’s  long  since kicked  most  of  his  bad  habits,  the  urge  to   indulge  in  them  always  rears  its  head  when  he  sees  them.     Remembering  times  where  he  was  so  high  he  didn’t  even  have  it  in  him  to  feel  sad  makes  him  wish,  in  some  shape  or  form,  he  could  still  mess  around  with  the  stuff  without  having  to  sacrifice  his  health  or  his  looks  for  it.

                 ❛  Can  y’even  dance?    Somehow,  I  get  the  impression  tha’  y’d  jus’  look  like  the  third  Happy  Feet  instalment.  ❜     /     @hurricvned

                 ❛  I  came  as  soon  as  I  could,  ❜     he  calls  as  he  comes  to  a  stop  in  front  of  her  in  the  park  they  often  frequent  together.     When  she’d  first  told  him  that  she  had  a  surprise  for  him  during  their  lunch  break,  he’d  been  filled  to  the  brim  with  excitement.    His  professor,  however,  had  had  other  plans  and  had  made  him  stay  behind  for  a  little  while  in  order  to  go  over  some  material  he  didn’t  quite  ace  in  the  last  exam.     He  sticks  his  tongue  out  theatrically  before  huffing  with  a  pout:

                 He  barely  hears  her  above  the  wind  whistling  in  his  ears.     This  is  somewhat  of  a  ritual  to  him  at  this  point.     After  feeling  compelled  to  throw  himself  from  high  places  for  the  majority  of  his  adult  life,  he  makes  it  his  mission  to  traverse  the  most  dangerous  of  them  and  live.     The  Golden  Gate  is  no  exception  to  this  rule,  and  he  stands  atop  those  railings  despite  the  suicidal  undertones  such  an  action  may  carry  to  outsiders.     For  him,  it’s  empowering--    especially  with  how  the  black  of  night  has  the  sky  and  water  two-hundred  feet  below  him  blurring  into  one.    It’s  as  if  he’s  staring  into  the  abyss  shortly  after  death  with  nothing  but  pride  in  his  face.

                 Now  well-trained  in  the  art  of  holding  poses,  he  doesn’t  think  to  look  back  at  her.     He  probably  does  look  amazing  against  the  backdrop  of  stars,  coat  billowing,  fearless  despite  the  open  water  beneath  him  and  the  breeze  just  strong  enough  to  send  him  toppling  should  he  let  it.     This  isn’t  a  suicide  attempt,  nor  is  it  an  attempt  at  eliciting  pity--    it’s  a  triumph.

                 ❛  Hey,  Nom-Nom?  ❜     Despite  the  gravity  of  the  request  he’s  about  to  make,  there’s  no  trace  of  sadness  in  him.     This  isn’t  a  sign  so  much  as  it  is  him  asking  a  humble  favour.     ❛  When  I  die,  will  y’burn  me?     I  wan’  y’t’throw  my  ashes  over  the  edge’a  the  San-Fran  bridge  at  sunrise.  ❜

                 Normally,  such  a  blunt  enquiry  would  be  a  display  of  facetiousness,  but  there’s  an  underlying  seriousness  to  his  words,  one  that’s  impossible  to  ignore.     There  is  seldom  a  monument  that  he  finds  more  appealing  than  the  aforementioned  bridge,  and  if  he  was  to  be  cast  anywhere  on  earth,  he’d  much  rather  the  sky  than  the  ground.
