"The Arcana" review

(centered on Lucio's character)

Ok, this will be rought...I'll be totally honest: I liked Lucio more in the previous version before the changings in his tale(yes previously it was more gore and horror and he was horrid like in Asra tales and Muriel, Nadia, Julian(remenber that while Julian was trying to cure him ‼️he purposely infected Julian‼️and this is canon in every route). He wasn't a characters with a "romance route redemption" possibility; his redempion should have been leaving everybody live their lifes peacefully. I don't like how "meme" his character became to make him romanciable. I think he was a "special character" that deserved the only not romantic route, one where we discover the mysteries that are not still clear in the others. There are plenty of holes in the Arcana story that are not revealed even now that the game ended; we don't really know how he met Julian, we don't really know how he entangled himself with the courtiers, we don't know his relationship witha Nadia nor Valerius (it's all vague) we don't know how someone like him, unable to use magic, arrived to the Devil... it's canon that it's not simple to reach Arcanas in the game, how this man reached the devil??

I liked him only in his previous tale version and in Nadia's Asra's and Julian's route here he was actually a villain, it was coherent whith all the horrible things he made: he killed his father and took his heart to give it to a monster, he deceived Asra's parents and sold them to the devil, he made what he made to Muriel and Julian, he is objectively someone that has no way to really atone what he made. In his route what he made wasn't even in the slightest something that is enouth for a redempion. I think that Lucio's route should have been a special route to clarificay what wasn't explained in the other routes, he was the only one with the potential of knowing everything about what happened... instead of being an idiotic character """so we can romance him bc he was just a lil evil and stupid"""... this is disappointing. This is my opinion I know that his route is one of the most succesfull in the new fandom... but I also know that people didn't played the others routes; many people don't know that he cheated on Nadia so many times, and that in the previous versions, even if she didn't remenber him, even when she had no memory she loathed him, thus made Nadia a really really realistic character, Arsa always fleed the cops for the trauma Lucio caused him since he was a child, Muriel was already shy and with traumas beacuse of Morga(other character that can't have a redempion, she with her tribe killed all the other tribes, in the previous version of Montag tale he clearly tell that his mother didn't hunted for the pray, she did it for "the kill"...). Julian was going to die of the plague because of Lucio like I said previously. He is not a character that you can set like the others or leave be in a light way like it has been done in his route...

I'm sorry for who liked his route... yet this is what I think, it should have been coherent with the rest of the story...not the contrary: to delete the parts "where he was tooo bad" and then go with a romance route.

I had a beautiful experience with the arcana in the first three routes and the tales... then it lost itself. For how it is now, It's a game I don't suggest to play. I'm sad about this review but it's what I truly think. I used to love this game in the beginning.
