DNC Statement on OH Secretary of State Jon Husted's plan to rollback early voting hours
Following Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted’s announced plan to rollback early voting hours, DNC Director of Voter Protection Pratt Wiley issued the following statement:
“With today’s announcement, it is clear Secretary Husted is determined restrict the right to vote in Ohio. Just days after Republicans eliminated Golden Week, they’ve now ended early voting on Sundays as well as the Monday before Election Day. Early voting has worked in Ohio since 2005 and the only reason to limit it now is to advance the Republican Party’s political agenda. While Republicans are putting up barriers to the ballot box, Democrats are committed to expanding the electorate and making the voting process a simple and inclusive one for all citizens.”
