HIV Testing Day - In the United States, there are nearly 1.1 million people who live with HIV, and almost one in five do not know that they are infected. Getting the test is the first step to find out if you have HIV. The Centers for Disease Control recommends anyone between the age of 13 and 64 receive an HIV test as part of a routine physical. Those who are sexually active, the CDC recommends testing once per year and sometimes more frequently, depending on risk factors.
Ice Cream Cake Day - We don’t know is who invented the ice cream cake—at least not with any degree of certainty. We do know that there are Victorian Era desserts that were known as “Bombes” and were made of ice cream and fruit. Some of these desserts were made with cake or biscuits as well. However, many of these early “ice cream cakes” were unlike the modern ice cream cakes we know and love today.

Orange Blossom Day - As far as delicate, fragrant flowers go, the orange blossom has got to be near the top of the list of the world’s most favorite. Frequently used in perfumes, this flower has long been believed to bring good fortune and as such is often seen in bouquets and wreaths at weddings.
Pineapple Day - Pineapples are a tropical fruit native to the America’s, first found being consumed by the Tupi people. Their word for the fruit perfectly describes everyone’s reaction to this amazingly tangy treat, nanas “Excellent Fruit”. Pineapples are actually herbaceous perennials, meaning they are leafy, not woody, plants that grow for more than two years.
PTSD Awareness Day - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has a profound effect on the lives of those who suffer from it. The statistics alone are staggering, but can only tell a portion of the story. The trauma and anxiety associated with PTSD is a constant burden, inseparable from the sufferer. It was once a condition that was attributed only to returning combat veterans, but more and more the condition is diagnosed in those who have experienced violent crime or lived through catastrophic events. According to PTSD United, 20% of adults in the United States who have experienced a traumatic event suffer from PTSD.
