Just wanted to share an idea with you~ After Kylo goes a bit mad in TLJ and beats Hux, Phasma (who survives because we reject that waste of a wonderful character) takes Hux and runs. She's not prepared to let her best friend die. It's only once they've set themselves up on a mostly uninhabited planet, that they realise Hux is pregnant with Kylo's child.
I love it when Phasma and Hux are friends and they genuinely care for each other. Phasma can't stand to see Hux in such pain. He's got broken ribs, he's covered in bruises all over his body and he becomes very depressed. Phasma knows that she has to get Hux away from Supreme Leader Ren or else he'll slip so far into this dark hole that he's in that nothing will get him out. Not even Brendol's abuse got Armitage so low but Ren has broken him.
She knows they have to escape. They're two of the highest ranking officers on the ship, besides Ren, so getting clearance to escape is easy, it's just racing against time before word reaches Ren of their departure.
Imagine them finding lodgings on a little hardly-inhabited planet in an abandoned farmhouse. It looks like the previous owners left in a bit of a hurry but it's shelter and there are still food and supplies left here so it's enough until she can help Hux get his strength back and they can move on. But Hux doesn't get better. His bruising fades and his cuts heal but he becomes sick, throwing up every morning and becoming ill at the smell of some foods. Phasma is worried. There isn't civilisation around for miles and she daren't leave Hux alone for too long in case he deteriorates quickly.
Eventually, Hux comes clean about the reasoning behind his low mood and sadness after Crait. He and Ren were almost a year into their relationship when things began to fall apart. Ren, mad with power, strangled Hux and threw him into walls, throwing him around like a child would a plaything. But dates add up, Hux explains as he slides his hands down over the tiny bump of his belly. He's pregnant and it can only belong to Ren.
Hux asks her to be its godmother. She accepts, of course, and promises that she'll never allow any harm to come to the child, ever.
And now I'm imagining, years later, Ren finding Hux and Phasma's farm and being shocked when he sees a little red-haired girl playing in the fields. He presumes that it's Phasma and Hux's daughter but he feels a connection to her, strangely. She calls for Mama when she sees Kylo approaching and, naturally, Hux runs out of the house and freezes when he sees Kylo's silhouette across the field. The girl cries for Mama again and Hux sweeps her up when she runs to him and they both disappear outside of the house.
Before Ren can take another step, a blaster bolt burns the ground in front of him. Phasma is standing on the farmhouse's porch with a large blaster aimed right at Ren's head. She promises that she wouldn't let anything happen to the child but she also won't let anything happen to Hux. If that means putting herself in between them and Ren, then so be it.
