“Promise me okay?”

Dark orb peek through short lash, taking in sight of female; another page of parchment flipped. “Promise you – what?” he inquires, dumbly, knowing exactly what she was asking of him – only he feigns ignorance. What more can he do. Jisoo has stuffed his nose in books for the past four hours, single light on in living room to grant enough ambiance that he is able to read printed word; he flips another page. He’s read these books hundreds of times. Front to back, he could probably recite words from random pages by mere memory alone – he’d studied this material overseas for 8 months after all. Amusing, how his habit of studying comes on so strongly when he was feeling so absent minded. Dull and devoid of – what, exactly?
Jisoo can’t recall what had made him this way or why he’d even secluded himself to book alone, ah, but it was fine. At least this way he didn’t have to worry about troublesome thoughts filtering through his mind nor contemplate his every move as if breathing out sigh were wrong one. He flips another page. It’s clear female’s annoyance is peaking, her gaze fixed upon him now in a seemingly harsh stare. Alas, he knows her better than this, it’s so obvious that she is merely worried for him. Showing her care through harsh action others might find off-putting to be around. Jisoo was okay with it, somehow he tended to respond better to pain. At least it was lie he told himself.
“If you keep staring like that a hole might burn through my skull.” Jisoo is certain at this point it wouldn’t be such a negative outcome for the end of his day. Too much had come crashing down upon him, weighing his chest in a most unpleasant manner to point he’d taken two of prescribed pill rather one, action he’d normally not condone. It was probably why he were so calm now, seated like some scholar in a circle of book scattered about. Gasp that of disbelief that’d left female’s tier thirty minutes ago no doubt shocked from mere sight alone. Still, he’d persisted on finishing last novel before being dragged out into ‘real world’ for some fresh air.
“Almost done.”
