beth had heard of all the chaos happening on valentine’s day and did not risk leaving her room for the event but with everything ‘supposedly’ back to normal classes were resuming. “were you out that night?” they asked to someone as they were walking from class. they couldn’t help their curiosity as it seemed to be the only thing some people in class were talking about.

"yes, hannah, i remember you." beth felt her twin's arms wrap around her as she approached her, hugging her tightly as she felt like it'd been years since she'd seen hannah. however long they'd both been gone. it killed beth inside to think the fate that she fell to was the same as her sister's. whatever had happened with everyone wasn't worth that. if beth could've saved her from that hurt, she would've spent her whole life trying. "i'm so sorry i didn't remember anything. then josh showed me the picture of us all together and-" her head shook as she recanted the story, leading to the painful thoughts once more. "it doesn't matter. all that matters is that we're both here and we're okay."
