Ariel was beached for almost half an hour before she had the ability to stand. Excitement had radiated off of her from the new view she had. Fresh sand sat beneath her and human legs reached out beneath her. Red lips parted to let out an excited laugh but only air escaped. It felt as though someone had clawed away at the inside and left acid in its place. But, it didn’t matter. It was worth the exchange.
Covering her body with a nearby sail and rope made her feel even more human and with a small tur her eyes landed on a ship not too far away. Blinking at it she felt a bit of hope flutter inside her stomach. Could Eric be there? The red hair girl wobbled a bit as she looked around the area. It was worth a try. Moving towards the ship was only making that feeling grow.
However, she never imagined the human world to look like this. Were all the things here humans? They all looked so different than what she had seen on Eric’s ship when she had spied on him that night. Everyone moved around so fast and her new human legs could barely support her as she was knocked around once she boarded. Her voice was gone now, taken in exchange for her dream of living in the world above, so she couldn’t talk to the people as they viciously walked past her, in her hunt for Eric.
