As if being back in Wilmington wasn’t a punishment itself, the moment the photographer received his first notification from his old high school group chat, he couldn’t help but brace himself for what the next few weeks could look like. His phone was flooded with text messages from old friends almost instantaneously, feeling a sense of deja vu as he scrolled through the tiny words on his phone. He couldn’t help but toss in the occasional reply, preferring to stir the pot because someone had to do it. It wasn’t until around nine in the evening when Levi ultimately decided he was tired of being borderline quarantined inside his childhood bedroom. He made his way downtown to a small bar to kill some time and get a buzz while doing it. He took a seat off to the right, ordering a simple old fashioned before mindlessly speaking to the figure next to him. “Can I ask you a question?” He pauses, rubbing his lips together as he watches the bartender. “What the fuck do people even do in this town? It’s so boring, I’m half-tempted to get alcohol poisoning tonight.”
