Hey I think it was you - you asked a question months ago about "tell me about your penis" and I, being transmasc, do not have a penis, but I told you in detail about the penis I would like to have, theoretically. Which was on the medium to smaller size.
I just remembered something that makes me laugh; it was a tumblr joke from at least like 10 years ago and starts with:
"I prefer guys who make small dick jokes about themselves over guys who make big dick jokes about themselves"
and the reply was
"I got a medium dick. it can talk to ghosts"
Now me, being mediumly silly/dumb sometimes, kind of took this at face value. Medium sized penises can apparently talk to ghosts. Sure, yeah!
Years later I realized the connection of a "medium" as in one who communicates with the otherworld, and I was like, OH, THAT was the joke.
So this is just to say that I would still like a medium dick because it can talk to ghosts.
Often when I do this, mistake a joke for absurd non-sequitur humour because I don't get it, I end up thinking it worked better as nonsense than as the real joke, and although I didn't not-get this one I would definitely put it in the same category. I don't respect the real joke here at all, you could slip that into literally any conversation about anything where people are comparing different sizes of a thing, it doesn't give a genuine twist or payoff for anything latent in the original exchange, it's just basically saying "here's a word with two unrelated meanings, how do you like that?" Sorry this is probably not the tone you were going for but I do strongly feel that the lowering of standards for what counts as successful wordplay is a genuinely sad case of a decline of taste in our culture.
I'm going to go to the field to try to sit and read for a bit but it's threatening rain so it may all come to nothing.
